Such a refreshing story

It took me a bit to get started on this book but once I did I found myself looking for reasons to drive so I could listen or loooijg for things to do around the house that I could do while listening. The characters were delightful and I especially liked the scene with the child and the cornbread up the nose incident as well as the falling in muck scene. Those gave me a giggle and a smile. I liked this book even better than the first in the series and you don’t have to read the first one before if you don’t want to. Highly recommended!

Angels Serenade

A fantastic listen that takes you into a story that the World building is very well done and brings out the characters. I love the way the Author and the Narrator brings this world alive. It grabbed me from the first page to the last, this would make for a great movie series. I definitely recommend.

Sweet romance, and a small town mystery

A sweetly unfolding romance between a new to town doctor and the local piano teacher is the primary driving force to this book. But, there is also several mysterious situations that need explaining, some river pirates, and multiple people trying to find the nest way to help those in need. A sweet story, with some dashes of mystery to make it more interesting.
Well done narration.

A Sweet Romance in Another Time and Place

I was given a review copy of Angel’s Serenade audio book by Linda Weaver Clarke and I was swept into a sweet and exciting Willow Valley historical romance right away. Set an 1836, this sweet historical romance is the second book in the Willow Valley Series. It features the fine, clear narration of Carolyn Kashner and the story covers a lot of ground. The author re-creates that time very authentically. She addresses medical problems of that era, as well as the well-known River Pirates that frequented the area. The heroine, Emmaline Scott, is very likable and engaging. The dialogue is realistic and moves quickly, and the narration is believable. The romance with the hero begins when he is captivated by Emmaline's piano playing. If you are in the mood to be completely transported to another place and time, this book is for you! Most of all, if you are longing to get swept up in a sweet romance, Angel’s Serenade will definitely satisfy that longing for you. I look forward to more stories from Linda Weaver Clarke.

A unique and fun story

This novel weaves a unique tale about a doctor, a piano teacher and her orphaned nieces/ nephewa and some mysterious river pirates. I found the concept fun and original.

The pacing was a little slow for me and I was not super fond of the narration. Overall a quality lilting tale that is a relaxing listen.

Serenade

A book about a doctor, a piano teacher and some river pirates. Sounds unbelievable but the author creates a unique story. The children were adorable and somewhat adventurous. The narrator brings the story alive.

Music can make you fall in love

Lucas would listen to the music playing at the end of each workday. It sounded as though he was being serenaded by an angel. Would this be enough for the two to fall in love? Even though his angel had 2 children to raise. Time will tell. Good story light romance and drama.

Angel lady

There were a lot of admirable things that got my attention here. My favorite was music. I was fascinated how it was a subtle gel that glued everything together. Familial struggles as well as societal preconceptions here were quite raw. I loved the historical aspect here. I liked it that the narrator took the time to actually sings some verses. I think it was a nice touch.
