The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is an ever-expanding film franchise that includes both movies and television series based on characters from Marvel comic books. At 27 movies and counting, the MCU shows no signs of slowing down. With six new movies scheduled to release between 2022 and 2023, and a whole slew of new TV shows in the works, it can be hard for even the most devoted fans to keep track of everything.

As an adult, the immaturity of this one was hard to stomach. Cringey teen and moustache-twirling monologuing evil villain, damsel in distress subplot. I'll generously rate this higher than I feel with the assumption that I'm not the right audience.

The plot was decent. Awful Cassie, even worse narrator when he talked about Cassie. Tony Stark and Scott Lang were great,

I just watched the 3rd Ant-Man movie and thought I would listen to this audio adventure. A fun listen to. It seems to have a film noir theme to it. The story is mostly about Scott Lang alias Ant-Man and his daughter Cassie relationship and how Scott jungles being a divorced dad and a superhero at the same time. The story also involves a kidnap plot and the possible extinction of all Ants. A great story

This is a fun and breezy story helped considerably by the multi voice cast. (As an aside, I wish Audible would make more of these modern audio presentations available. They work like a modern spin on a kind of long form radio show from the 30's). The final resolution is perhaps a bit underwhelming, but the journey is worth it. This thing sucks you in! Enjoy!

Full disclosure: my greatest passion is comic books and my favorite comic book superhero of all time since childhood is Ant-Man. Specifically, my favorite character is Hank Pym, but Scott Lang is a close second. When I saw that this book had been released, I had to read it, and when I saw that there was a Graphic Audio audiobook of it, I downloaded it immediately. This is a great Scott Lang story. I say Scott Lang story because it does something interesting and lets the costumed antics of Ant-Man take a backseat to Scott Lang, a man trying to do his best to offer stability to his teenage daughter Cassie despite being a single father in New York. Don't get me wrong, Ant-Man does take a major role in the narrative if that's what you're here for, but it's really nice to hear about the wholesome relationship between Scott and Cassie. The plot is a bit on the predictable side, but it's extremely enjoyable nonetheless. Additionally, Graphic Audio knocked it out of the park with this audiobook. In particular, the voices of Scott Lang, Cassie Lang, and Tony Stark are absolutely spectacular, as is the narrator. However, the whole cast is phenomenal, and it really feels like an evolution of old radio plays rather than just another audio book. It sucked me into the world completely and I enjoyed the experience from start to finish. If you're a fan of the Ant-Man character, I highly recommend picking up this book.

A Great Scott Lang Story
