About this listen

When two strangers are trapped in a blizzard, heat rises.

Haunted by what he lost in Afghanistan, Captain Jack Turner is at a crossroads. While the last place he wants to go is the Arctic, at least the routine mission gets him out from behind his new desk. But he starts off on the wrong foot with the Canadian Ranger guiding him across the forbidding and dangerous land, and Jack would rather be anywhere than sharing a tent with Sergeant Kin Carsen.

The Arctic is in Kin's blood, and he can't seem to leave the tundra behind. He wishes he could live openly as a gay man, but the North isn't as accepting as the rest of Canada. Although he's lonely, he loves his responsibility as a Ranger, patrolling the vast land he knows so well. But he's on unfamiliar ground with Jack, and when they're stranded alone by a blizzard, unexpected desire begins to burn. Soon they're in a struggle to survive, and all these strangers have is each other.

Contains mature themes.

Emotional.

Arctic Fire was a heartfelt read. Keira Andrews really packed a lot of emotions into this quick story and had me completely invested in these characters!
Jack and Kin were both dealing with a lot of past trauma and I was glad they found each other.

Joel Leslie was a great choice to narrate this story- he brought such vulnerability to each character.

Emotional short story

Well written, thoroughly enjoyable, but I definitely wish it was longer to see the MCs navigate their relationship.

Wow

This really needed to be longer. I couldn't believe there was so much packed in to this short story. I think I have whiplash. Narration of course was fabulous.

Too short but good

I wish it was longer so we could get more of their relationship! I loved the story.

Deserves its own book

Thoroughly enjoyed listening to this little ditty. Brilliantly narrated. Just enough steamy to keep you listening. Really, this story and these MCs deserve to have their own stand alone. It’s a good setup so my guess is there will be…?

Loved It

I really enjoyed this book. It was fairly short, but overall felt complete. Captain Jack Turner wasn't very enthusiastic about his trip to the Arctic, but then he'd lost direction and desire for anything back in Afghanistan. Ranger Sergeant Kin was not impressed by Jack's seemingly disregard for his home. I enjoyed how they both developed over the course on this story and in each other's company. Jack's suffering from PTSD and his physical and emotional scars felt realistic and believable and I liked how that aspect was handled. I enjoyed the forced proximity trope here that got wonderfully steamy. I also love how things came full circle. It was unexpected, exciting, and kept me on the edge of my seat.

Joel Leslie does another amazing job bringing these characters to life. He is so talented and I am in love with his voice. I love Keira's books, so I'm always excited to see a Keira/Joel pairing.

Life awoken in minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit

After a traumatic experience in Afganistan, Captain Jack Turner has been sleepwalking through life. When sent on a mission to the Arctic, he didn’t even read the brief on why he was there. Unprepared for the weather, the landscape, and his duties, he relied on Canadian Ranger Sergeant Kin Carsen who saves his life in more ways than one.

Excellent narration; This short story is worth listening.
