About this listen

From New York Times best-selling author Bob Mayer writing as Robert Doherty.

Over 1.2 Million copies of Area 51 sold in print-also author of best-selling Atlantis series

Area 51 was the most secret place in America. But it was only one piece in a puzzle that stretched from Egypt's Pyramids to the mysterious face on Mars.

Part of a plan begun 5,000 years ago by those who had been here before. And are coming back.

When scientist Lisa Duncan and Special Forces officer Mike Turcotte uncovered the stunning truth about Area 51--a "training area" on Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada--they opened up a Pandora's box kept hidden from the American public for 50 years.

What they uncovered explained decades of UFO sightings--and the most baffling mysteries of history from the Great Pyramid to Easter Island.

But these findings were only the beginning. Now a signal has come in from outer space: our first contact with extraterrestrials. The message said they were coming. It didn't say they had been here before...and left something behind. But what waited deep within the Rift Valley of Ethiopia and inside an ancient Chinese tomb would determine Earth's fate. The dawning of a new age. Or the destruction of us all...

Listened to this as a stand alone title. Even still the story was gripping and left me wanting more. Jeffrey Kafer is wonderful

Really intriguing

I love this series but be warned this is the last book by Jeffrey Kafer. The narrator for the next books pronounces words and characters differently and throws you off. It did for me and ruined the next book. I would recommend buying a physical copy or one for your kindle. Sorry Eric Dove but your voice gave me a headache. You are missed Jeffrey and I hope they can get him to re-record the books that follow.

Still I love the story just wish their was more meat on the bones and less recap from previous books. I strongly recommend this series.

Great narrator and great story

Read some reviews and they convinced me
To listen to the third book otherwise I would have been done with the series by now, just something about the story and how predictable it is.

A little more interesting

Would you listen to Area 51: The Reply again? Why?

Yes, I was impressed with the concept and development in Area 51 (the first book in the "Area 51" series.

What other book might you compare Area 51: The Reply to and why?

It's a worthy follow-up to Area 51, the first book in the series.

Interstellar conflict!

If you could sum up Area 51: The Reply in three words, what would they be?

The mysteries of History.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Area 51: The Reply?

The most meme able moment was when they were in the cave and talking to the Germans about what was going on and why they were there. The story of the alien war and how there is life in Mars was another part that stuck with me. Not knowing which aliens where the good one and which were the bad one is a bit confusing and hard to keep up with but overall the story and book are a continuation from book 1 and just as good.

What does Jeffrey Kafer bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Jeffrey brings the emotion to the book.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes it was and I actually did listen to it all in one day not necessarily one sitting because I had to stop a few times but I finished it in one day and going on to the third book curiosity has me. I'm interested to see what happens when the aliens wake up and the results of war..

Any additional comments?

This is book two of a series with an indeterminate author. Who wrote this book? Was it Bob Mayer or somebody else? I hate pseudonyms. Take credit for it or don't...just don't lie to the readers. t had an engaging plot, interesting characters, and a high level of suspense. Unfortunately, it felt like a bridge connecting the beginning (book1) and the rest of the plot. These must be read in order as it is one continuous story..
