About this listen

A Space Marine Conquests audiobook.

Concerned by his Chapter’s diminishing numbers, Logan Grimnar entrusts Njal Stormcaller with finding a remedy for the Space Wolves' plight - a remedy that may lie in the least likely of places, on the damned world of Prospero.

Listen to it because....

Space Wolves and Thousand Sons are eternal foes, and this audiobook explores events from the Horus Heresy and the Space Wolves' circumstances in the 41st millennium in interesting and exciting ways.

The story....

The grand halls of Fenris grow ever quieter in the wake of the Space Wolves' arduous campaigns. Concerned by his Chapter’s diminishing numbers, the Great Wolf Logan Grimnar entrusts Njal Stormcaller with a task - to find a remedy for their plight.

When a 10,000-year-old enemy embeds itself in the Rune Priest’s mind, it claims that the salvation he seeks lies where an ancient enmity began - on Prospero, the ruined home world of the Thousand Sons Legion. Alongside an eclectic company of injured Space Wolves, thralls, and a trickster who is more hindrance than help, the Stormcaller sets forth. But it soon becomes apparent that greater mechanisms are at work. It is no longer only the fate of the Sons of Russ that is at stake, but that of the entire Imperium.

Written by Gav Thorpe. Narrated by John Banks. Duration 9 hours 24 minutes.

Enjoyed book from a thousand sons fan

it was very nice to see a thousand sons sorcerer and rune priest fight like a old married couple. it was a cool to see a 10 thousand year old thousand sons disliked or outwardly refused the actions of the current thousand sons, truly shows how they have fallen. The revelation of why the burning of prospero even happen was a nice touch.

A howl of a tale

A good space wolves no el. Nothing too groundbreaking, but an easy listen. Cover art is a bit misleading as Njal Stormcaller serves as the main focus of the story. Story also serves as a focus on all the main space wolves characters, as most of them appear in the story. Narrator does an excellent job and most characters can be told apart.

Lukas and Njall shine

In a fantastic surprise for me, this book was exceptionally entertaining. What amounts to a Freaky-Friday Buddy-Space-Marine quest cements the fact that once again, Lukas is the best Trickster in the 40k setting, and that the Space Wolves get all the best stories. Definitely pick this up if you're on the fence about it, you will NOT be disappointed.

Space Wolves All Stars

Pretty much every named Space Wolf besides Ragnar Blackmane has a role in this story: Njall Stormcaller, Bjorn the Fellhanded, Arjac Rockfist, Lukas the Trickster, Ulrik the Slayer, and Logan Grimnar all are key players. Also ties in very nicely with the Horus Heresy.

Revelations, Realizations by Greybeards, and Lucas

I enjoyed the story that began with a simple premise and ended up broadening to include revelations and older characters from previous events and deepened the character of Lucas.

Great addition

A welcome addition to the SPC series of warhammer 40k. Add onto the series on audible please. And make John banks an offer he can’t refuse to narrate more.

Lore depth

I liked this book due to the fact it added lore depth to the interaction of the Space Wolves and Thousand Sons, with having some Space Wolves regretting their actions they did during the Burning of Prospero

Izzakar Orr and Lukas.

Man this was a good one. Wish I could read it again. The dialogue banter is what’s needed more in 40k. Maybe I’m just becoming wolves fan more and more or a Gav Thorpe fan.
