About this listen

The Custodian Guard have stood watch over the Emperor's Palace on Terra since the foundation of the Imperium. Charged with protecting the Master of Mankind from all threats, within and without, their fearsome resolve is renowned throughout the galaxy, and their golden armour is the last thing that a would-be assassin or saboteur will ever see.

Alongside the Null-maidens of the Sisters of Silence, who are anathema to psykers and sorcerers alike, there is no threat to the Golden Throne that they alone cannot vanquish...until now.

The way of showing the accounts of each character was creative. The story was also amazing at bringing life into the characters and had me on the edge of my seat when the characters were threatened.

It was amazing

great story and characters steeped in lore that you do not hear often. The language can get a bit stuffy but not overwelming.

fantastic book with great voice actors.

One of my favorite Warhammer books so far! I really enjoyed the three storylines and how they intersect! Great narrators too! More titles like this would be great!

Excellent story and narrators!

I wasn't expecting three different readers but they all gave captivating performances! The Fall of Cadia had repercussions all throughout the Imperium but none more than Terra. If you want to know more than please listen to this book!

Fantastic read by three talented narrators. Learn what happened on Terra when Cadia fell.

I purchased this audiobook along with another and an audio drama on the black library app... Due to unfortunate complications with the BL app, I had to make the purchases again; I'll gladly do so seeing as though I loved each one of my purchases that much!
I have listened to each one more than 10 times separately and may end up adding the "carrion throne" to my collection. 😏 I must be kidding myself I am definitely going to add it to my collection.
I have purchased this book four times now; only one was a gift!!

My collection is as follows:
"The master of mankind"
"The emperor's legion"
pretty soon hereafter the review "the carrion throne"
"The interrogation of Salvador Lermentov"

stay away from the black library app

Loved it, but only complaint was that it did get sluggish at points but that is with most stories if you want great detail.

Great story overall.
