About this listen

Learn to stand up for yourself! Do you sometimes feel as though others walk all over you? Have you been a victim of bullying? Or, do you think you're a people pleaser? Whatever the case may be, the chances are you're lacking the skill of assertiveness.

Whenever people mistreat us, it is because we're unknowingly showing a weakness that is causing these undesirable things to happen. We all deserve to be respected. It is a basic human need that we treat each other fairly.

Many of us also go through life never truly experiencing what we want. This can either be the perfect relationship, a dream career or a particular lifestyle we had always envisioned for ourselves. The simple reason why we don't go for what we want with more determination is because we have picked up the belief that we must be passive and nice as to not offend others. The problem with this behavior however, is that it gives others the chance to walk all over us. Then, out of fear from offending others, we leave ourselves open to be exploited and don't get what we want.

In this complete guide, we will go over everything you need to know to thrive in life and relationships including:

  • Boosting self-esteem & self-respect
  • Healing yourself emotionally
  • Assertiveness techniques which you can implement immediately
  • Psychology of assertive behavior and bullying
  • Emotional intelligence
  • Developing boundaries
  • This book will delve into the psychology of assertiveness and how you can learn this new behavior. It will also explore the mindset of bullies and how we sometimes self-sabotage ourselves. So, if you are sick and tired of others mistreating you, pick up this book to understand that you can be assertive and get more of what you want out of life. With your new found assertiveness, you'll find that almost every situation in life can be win-win.

    Great book

I have been listening to this book repeatedly and it always feels like the first. The wisdom written in the words never loses its power and I am thankful that I have this benchmark for reminding me that I should not fear expressing my needs.

Very good for kids in a joint parenting or Co parenting situation. Very good for adults who may never have heard some or any of this stuff. Just yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Get this book.

Excellent but Not all religions will accept this.

Excellent but Not all religions will accept "all"of this program but most of the program is very important and extremely helpful NOT to be aggressive which are much more complicated with all the people around the world! All the best!

    Life Changing!

This book seeks to deal with a wide variety of situations. The initial chapters set the scene as to when and why boundaries are useful, subsequent chapters address specific areas. There are some very helpful principles in the book, but at times the boundaries principle seems to be pushed beyond biblical boundaries. Perhaps this reflects the fact that many readers will be likely to be struggling with a lack of boundaries rather than prone to over-enforcement. At very least the book provides a good basis to discuss the appropriate response to different boundary issues.

Great book on assertiveness and bullies

This book was an eye-opener! It brought up many things I never thought about regarding why I am a target for bullies and exploiters. It shows what is wrong about our childhood conditioning that leaves us to be prey, and how our lack of assertiveness leaves us with battered self esteem and self worth. I enjoyed the author's teaching tools, learned a lot, and enjoyed the narrator.
I received this audiobook free in exchange for my honest review. I honestly thought this book was very insightful, and I took a lot of useful tools away from it.

didn't get much use, either it was too obvious or rehash of what's already been said. only redeeming quality is the narrator.

    no use

What disappointed you about Assertiveness: Learn to Say No!?

Based on the reviews, I was expecting much more. The reviews seem fake, the book is not as amazing as they sound. There is too much focus on theory and why we are the way we are and less on actionable steps. It was no use to me.

Good overview, but not a lot of skill building help.

More of a description of boundaries and assertiveness, but offered minimal instruction on how to implement in your own life.
