Publisher's summary

From the New York Times Best-Selling Author of DEFCON One

When traditional military tactics are no longer enough, new weapons must be found. Scott Dalton and Jackie Sullivan are those weapons - operatives so secret that they will be disavowed if ever caught.

Equipped with cutting-edge technology and with extensive resources, only they can prevent a nuclear catastrophe that could destroy the United States.

They do not lack for targets in their efforts to prevent a worldwide conflagration: Saeed Shayhidi, a billionaire Iranian mastermind of terror; Khaliq Farkas, as barbaric and elusive as bin Laden; and Zheng-Yen Tsung, a powerful Chinese official looking to tip the scales of world power at any expense.

For Dalton and Sullivan, the challenges have never been greater, the threat never more intense. The United State is under attack on multiple fronts and our enemies must know that any such attack will be met only one way...with an assured response.

“Thanks be to the book-writing gods; we have a writer who does what writers are supposed to do—tell a story.”—The Wichita Eagle

Held My Breath

Awesome read / listening. The reader’s showed excitement and disappointment in their story. Don’t know what else to say

Too many

too many close calls for Jackie and Scott. Either sideline, kill off, or let someone else take the hit.

not my favorite performance

Didn't finish it. Good story, but couldn't handle narrator's voice for females, nasally and lispy.

Terrified

Intresting in that the good guys can't seem to actually stop the bad guy terrorists. The heroes are talented and determined but unlucky. The terrorist are willing to die to kill their enemies and seem to have the advantage against a government with more weapons than focus.

Better Than First Book

As a sequel, this was better but still fell short of the mark. An interesting plot ruined by being too frenetic. Simply too much going on with too many
disjointed outcomes. Final thought: saying "if it's on Fox News it must be true" is a real turn-off.

Unrealistic

It was an interesting story/plot pointing out the risks we actually face in this world. However, the 2 "lovebird" "off the books" slooth characters had totally unrealistic communications and dialogue throughout the book. Then, it ended......with so much unresolved. A weak ending.

not a great story that's for sure.

I had high hopes for the book and the characters but I'm still wondering what Scott and Jackie really do if anything that makes an impact.

Juvenile

Dialogue was a little juvenile between the main character’s. Seems like the author tried a little too hard.

Best of the series but no conclusion

This is action packed from start to finish but be warned there is not conclusion. I expected the next in the series ‘Dancing with the Dragon’ to pick up where this one finished but it doesn’t, it takes a completely different direction with the same characters.
