About this listen
Space is far from empty.
It's full of debris left over from the formation of our solar system.
Sometimes they are on a collision course with Earth.
Diversion places Gunner Fox, a United States Air Force test pilot and Earth scientist on a collision course with a planet-killing asteroid.
In a time of desperation NASA needs the most fearless fighter pilot for a life-or-death mission. They need Gunner Fox. Can they convince the man who blames them for taking his wife, help them divert the asteroid hurtling to Earth and avoid another extinction-level event?
When you have nothing to lose, you have everything to gain.
Regarded for his fact-based fiction, Bobby Akart once again masterfully mixes science with suspense in this page turning Asteroid trilogy, as it continues with book two, Diversion.
The Asteroid series, a Gunner Fox Trilogy.

Several years ago, an ARkStorm, a once-in-a-thousand-years flood event caused by a series of intense atmospheric rivers, flooded the Central Valley of California from Sacramento to what was once Los Angeles. The weight of the water was equivalent to the volume generated by the Mississippi River times 22. It challenged an already fragile seismic system consisting of hundreds of active faults.

Story
This new stand-alone survival thriller thrusts the most dynamic city on Earth, New York, into darkness as North America is bludgeoned by the sun's ferocity. Scientists promised a beautiful aurora providing the city that never sleeps with magnificent hues of blue and green. For three days, New Yorkers took to the streets, parks, and rooftops to enjoy the awe-inspiring spectacle. As the power grid failed, the city of New York collapsed with remarkable speed. The thin veneer of civilization was laid bare as man fought one another for survival.

Story
We were fighting on the wrong side of a war we couldn't win. And that was the good news. The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon come ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There go the good old days, when humans only got killed by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

Story
In April 1970, during the glory days of the Apollo space program, NASA sent Navy Captain Jim Lovell and two other astronauts on America's fifth mission to the moon. Only 55 hours into the flight of Apollo 13, disaster struck: a mysterious explosion rocked the ship, and soon its oxygen and power began draining away. Written with all the color and drama of the best fiction, Apollo 13 (previously published as Lost Moon) tells the full story of the moon shot that almost ended in catastrophe.

Story
From the Audie-nominated narrator of The Martian. In eleven years' time, a million members of an alien race will arrive at Earth. Years before they enter orbit, their approach will be announced by the flare of a thousand flames in the sky, their ships' huge engines burning hard to slow them from the vast speeds needed to cross interstellar space. These foreboding lights will shine in our night sky like new stars, getting ever brighter until they outshine even the sun, casting ominous shadows and banishing the night until they suddenly blink out.

This book, in my opinion, is definitely in Bobby Akart's top ten! I was standing next to Gunner Fox during his high intensity adventure towards the final book in this trilogy. I can't wait to finish this review so I can start the final book!
