Great story of love, loss and faith

I loved the story and plot. The only think I didn't like about the audiobook was that I could hear the narrator make funny noises, like snatching his mouth or something. It almost sounded like his dentures were coming loose. (I have no idea if he wear dentures)

One of my audible favorites

This is one of the best books of adult Christian fiction I've read in many years. After I read/inhaled it the first time, I bought this audio version and over the past few years have listened to it twice. The writing is rich and the narration a great fit.

I live near the area where the story is supposed to have taken place. Linda Nichols captured the setting truly and beautifully.

Too much "fluff" but overall a good story

This was a good story, but the author got caught up in too many details and wandering around a bit. She could have left out a couple of hours of listening time and it would have been better. I love long books, but get bored when the story rambles.

At the Scent of Water

I gladly submit a review for this book. I loved this story and the characters. I have to say I cried some cleansing tears. I was caught up in the first words and willingly followed along to the last. I'm sure reading the book would have touched me but the narrator made it even better.
Thank you Linda. Can't wait til the next book.

very gloomy & depressing

This moody book is a tapestry (nay, wet blanket) woven of grief, gloom and gospel. I could only take 3 hours of it before quitting. I'm hoping it has an uplifting ending - but I'll never know.
