About this listen

A small town, single dad, enemies to lovers romance.

Crawling back to this small town was never in hockey star Chase Woodson’s plans.
From hitting hockey pucks in front of thousands to selling urinal pucks at his father’s hardware store, coming back home is his worst nightmare.
But being a (newly) single dad of twin boys means making sacrifices. His boys need stability and his dad needs his help in the store.
Now he needs her.
Except, Chase has been the bane of Madison Kelly’s existence since high school.
She just so happens to be the only available nanny in town.
Besides, high school was ten years ago.
People don’t hold grudges that long, right?

I wanted to love this book. I liked it, don't get me wrong.
I loved the way Chase is with his children. He is attentive and very protective, and with good reason.

Madison is who I didn't jive well with. I just felt like she was being the woe is me. It got on my nerves a little. I liked how she dealt with Chase and his overbearing ways. She really was precisely who Chase needed, and the boys, too.

The twins were cute. I never felt like the author forgot about the kids, as some authors tend to do.

I loved Sebastian York as our narrator and we had a lot of Chase's POV, his was even the first which I loved.

I like Marie James. This book was so frustrating. I couldn’t get with this female lead. I ended up skipping some of the female chapters. It was so hard to get through this book. I’m nervous to get the next in the series.

kinda boring and I really didn't care for female narrator she sounded a lot older then the charter was prortrayed.

Sweet! And sexy!! And romantic! And wonderful! It’s got all the feels, great writing, a wonderful community of characters with totally believable dialogue so that you feel like you’re right there with them. And the narrators are great - I mean let’s face it, SebYo is everything!!! Just get this one!

Love this one!!!

This one felt flat to me, both the narrators and the story. "Back Against the Wall" is the first and last book of the Lindell series that I will spend a credit on. Marie James is one of my favorite authors but not even Sebastian York could save this book.

I was itching for a Sebastian York listen and figured I'd try a new to me author as well as a new to me female narrator. Unfortunately, this wasn't the book I should have tried, even Sebyo couldn't save this story. I wasn't a fan of the female narrator, or the female character.
