Another work day, another case for the Bloodhound Files. But this time, Jace is truly stumped: How is she, a mere human, supposed to penetrate the dark heart of a child-trafficking ring of pire orphans - one that turns out to be part of a blood-farm operation, in the crime-ridden border city of Vancouver, British Columbia?
Jace is in over her head. But with the help of her former lover, Tanaka, - whose family is one of the last samurai clans left in Japan - she stands a chance at seeking justice for the condemned children.... Until the Yakuza tries to put an end to Jace's investigation. Jace risks more than death - this time, it's the fate of her very soul that's in danger.

Loving This Series

What did you like best about this story?
It had all the things I like about this series. Plenty of wisecracks, plenty of Jace and Charley, plenty of weird inter-dimensional beings and gods.... Even a little heaven and hell. We meet Tanaka again, chase Stoker around, fight gigantic monsters and search for missing pire children. Plus, it leaves off with a cliff hanger that was strong enough for me to buy the next book to see what happens.Which scene was your favorite?
Meeting the skeleton in the graveyard and the awesome fight that ensues. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I don't get this question... If I have a good book, I want to draw it out as long as possible... But either way, it's a fun and entertaining book, but it doesn't fall into one of the "top 5" if that's what you mean.Any additional comments?
I'm glad the series picked up some. I took a little break between 4 and 5 because I wasn't inspired to move on to the next book. I don't think 4 was terrible, it was just getting kind of old. I'm willing to admit it could have been my mood. But I'm ready for book 6. Lets see what happens.Picked up nicely for a fifth installment

Would you listen to Back from the Undead again? Why?
Maybe, but the Bloodhound books are not the kind that you forget.Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
No. The characters drive the story. You know that some how, some way that things are mostly going to turn out fine. The dialog is fast, fun, and snappy. What does Johanna Parker bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
She makes the characters come alive. Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
No, I did not want it to end. Why rush?Any additional comments?
I really like the quirky, funny, and flawed characters.Still fun
