His cat is out of control, and the only thing that soothes the beast is a rare mineral he keeps inking into his skin. Until he meets her: Genevieve Burel. the second time is better

The second book is better with more action and expansion of the story line. But I still wish they were full length books because the characters could use more depth than you can get in a novella.
The narration is still so poor with no sense of rhythm, no real ability to emote for the characters. The narrator is boring and really harms the story and makes it harder to enjoy what there is of the plot.

Ok but could be better

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I don't regret the purchase. It's a good storyline that is unique but it needs more meat to be a top series. So much more could be done with these books if each hero had his own book. I love both of these authors and they do a great job. I think the stories just went way to fast.

What didn’t you like about Pyper Down’s performance?

Inflections were off. Too many dramatic pauses in places it didn't need it. Almost to the point of adding an extra 3 or 4 periods in one sentence. Some places she did good but in those it was almost like she tried too hard.

What would have made this romance irresistible?

These stories have the potential to be great books but they are too short. It's two novella's crammed together and the story line went to fast. I wanted more from the story.

Any additional comments?

Great story but books were too short and the narrator was so-so. I don't regret them but doubt I'll listen to them again.

A Great Novella but Incomplete Series

I really like this audiobook series. Because each story is only 2-3 hours long it's easy to finish a story in one sitting. It's also slightly different from other supernatural books in that their race, the Pantera are only able (generally) to shift in another realm (the Wildlands) which borders the human worlds swamps. So they both are and aren't a part of the human world, able to blend in more easily as their panther counterparts aren't as strong outside the Wildlands. In my opinion the performance was pretty good. While I felt that the general narration could have been better in some parts, the difference in male and female voices were easy to distinguish which can be a problem with some narrators. The only thing is they are missing some of the novellas in the series! I wish they would make the rest audiobooks too because you end up missing some important events/characters. While listening it is easy to tell when you missed something if you go to play the next audiobook and the novella doesn't exist in audiobook format.

Good, but could be great.

The Narrator is okay, could use a better one with a deeper male voice.
The storyline is good and the love is strong. I think these stories would be better if each book were around the 5 hour mark and not 2.5 hours each story.
