I felt about the same as I did reading book 1. Great storyline and characters, but I got a mixed vibe.
Although the Romeros are Mafia, they are more on the softer side at heart.
I felt that Winter would have been more traumatized, but maybe she has a Harley Quinn personality ...
The love story is sweet, and the characters had personalities, but still not my favorite from the authors.
I did still enjoy the read, just not a book I would reread.

The authors and narrators do it again…they nail it every. Single. Time. It’s intense, per usual with the sisters, but with a satisfying hea and an unpredictable plot. They always keep you on your toes and up half the night. Worth it though!

This series guts me every single book and this one is no different. I cried, I laughed, I cried some more and I swooned. Seriously I don’t know who’s they do it but the characters become so real! You’re heart will hurt for Winter but she’s so strong and just an inspiration for anyone who has ever been abused. I couldn’t stop listening and I just don’t have enough words to express how this dark and twisted romance needs 1000 stars! With the authors and these narrators it’s truly a masterpiece of dark yummy goodness! Narrators are wicked good and I can’t say enough good things about them either! Well done all the way around!

Wow. I thought book 1 was good?! This series has legit taken me by storm. I finished this audio legit weeks ago and I STILL CANT STOP THINKING OF IT!

Winter is an incredible character and the way she found herself and discovered who she was… just. Wow.

The bonds formed. The alliances formed. And broken. This is easily one of my favorite mafia romance. I’ve read in a very long time. I cannot recommend this story anymore. Not to mention the narrator is absolutely Salut. I get so wrapped up in, just devour the audio when Bridget narrates.

The character crossover from book one is great. From the onset bringing in the characters was very fitting and some the sisters do well in their writing.
I can see a new series forming and this is a refreshing new plot.

I want to start this review off first by saying if you haven’t read /listened to Beautiful Carnage yet, I strongly suggest you do. While this can be read as a standalone, I feel it would be more enjoyable to read after the first book so you have a better understanding of Nicoli’s backstory

‘I would say you steal my breath away, Winter, but that’s not quite right. You steal my entire lungs and my heart along with them.’

I love liked how this book picks up basically where book one ended, it just switches point of view (follows the exact same time line). And I really love how Rocco, Sloan, baby River, Enzo and Frankie are still a big part of the book.

‘I promise that your sunrise will always come, no matter how dark the night gets.’

Mafia romances always have me in a chokehold and this is no different. The plot twost was a jaw dropper as well.

I have yet to find a book by Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti that I haven't loved and this one is no exception. I am not a huge reader of mafia romance but as I absolutely love this one. First off, this is a stand alone (yes, apparently these two are capable of this😉 ) so we don't have some horrible cliffy to cry in the corner over.

After how Beautiful Carnage ended, I couldn’t wait for Nicoli’s story. Nicoli has hidden from his family for a year now, unsure who he really is. He was alone until he finds a scared woman in the snow one day. Winter doesn’t remember her life before her torture. She may be scared on the inside and out, but she is a fighter. I love the dynamic between these two. Winter has walked through hell and has been reborn strong for it. Nicoli has had his world turned upside down & he needed someone like Winter to pull him out of his own musings.

This audiobook is just so good! The characters really come to life thanks to the narration and I loved listening to it.

This story is action packed and I definitely cannot wait for the other Romero brothers to get their stories told!
