About this listen

Landscape architect Emma Treager is searching for answers to a family mystery. She stumbles across an important clue at the run-down Indio Pointe Plantation where mystery floats through the air like the ghosts of the former owners. She can’t pass up the job that property owner Theo Lambert offers like an enchanted rose, despite his reputation of being a beast of a boss. As the two of them delve into the secrets of the past, Theo and Emma discover that finding clues is almost as much fun as finding each other.

This contemporary retelling of Beauty and the Beast with a touch of Romeo and Juliet is the next sweet romance in the Destination Billionaire series.

A fun, lighthearted read. I was especially impressed with the narrator, Vicki Pierce’s, ability to deftly convey the different characters’ changing emotions, while also so wonderfully giving each a unique voice with their various accents and speaking styles. All this blended well with the author’s apt description of the plantation estate and local conventions.

Emma and Theo are in a Romeo & Juliet style treasure hunt. She doesn't know her new boss is a billionaire (she hates rich folks) and he suspects she is out to steal the Treager Treasure from his plantation. No worries, there's hardly a doubt that will be a HEA ending. And, quite a pleasant journey to get there.

“Beauty and the Billionaire Beast: A Vintage Romance” By: Maria Hoagland
A sweet clean contemporary romance audiobook that I thoroughly enjoyed. My how family histories can get scrambled and this story shares one such tale. My only real problem was the voice of “Theo” did not mesh with how my imagination had anticipated his voice. Still a worthy read. Happy Reading ! !

I enjoyed this sweet and clean romance. It has an delightful storyline with a bit of drama/suspense to keep it moving. The characters are interesting and the narrator did a good job with their southern drawl.

This is a short sweet romance. Theo, as the grumpy billionaire with an attitude and a temper, is the perfect compliment to sweet, kind Emma who's visiting his plantation in hopes of fulfilling her grand father's wish for his 100th birthday celebration. Because of the shortness of the story, it's not complicated, but there's a nice twist at the end. The funnest things for me was the way Emma's personality calms the beast.

I listened to the audiobook and Vicki Pierce did a wonderful job.
