Publisher's summary

Family secrets, strange coincidences, and stolen kisses with an alluring librarian are woven into this evocative opposites-attract lesbian romantic suspense.

Globe-trotting photographer Eleanor Heysen is edgy, sexy, and just passing through.

When a family mystery emerges while she's back home in Melbourne, Eleanor crosses paths with intoxicating historian Alexa Bellamy. The self-assured picture-collections manager is irresistible.

Steamy kisses between the stacks at the State Library are one thing, but what happens when the ever-curious Eleanor shakes Alexa's family tree and dark secrets tumble out?

Alexa is in an emotional free fall, overwhelmed by her broody, spirited, and likely fleeting admirer and the fear and betrayal stirred up from the truth about Alexa's ancestors.

Is the invisible thread that brought the women together strong enough to pull them tighter? Or could it unravel and, just as Alexa fears, Eleanor will disappear?

Contains mature themes.

A Beautiful Weaving

What a wonderful story. Layered, nuanced, emotional. Wonderful narration. ... even 'Eleanor turned in Eleanor's arms' was a joyful wonderful moment.
Highly recommended. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Slow burn in Australia 🔥

This is the first story I have heard from this author and narrator and found it to be a delightful love story an an unusual mystery.
They both go together because the love and mystery evolve slowly but inexorably.
I do have one important comment to make.
This is a long story, narrated in an Australian accent. It is different from an English accent and it required a bit of time for adjustment.
Please give it a chance because the romance and detective work are worth it.

It was a great premise but very one note

I loved the narrator and the actual story of the family history. I think the love story was awkward. It just was missing a good arch and complexity. It was reaching but it just fell flat for me. I would love to read another book.

A captivating story

Some times you get a book that teaches you the human side of history in a far land… this book is that kind of book. I loved it, I loved the story line, the characters and narration was excellent as well.

Great Story and A Wonderful Narrator

I liked everything about this audiobook: plot, the characters, angst, history, and romance. The narration is spot on. It's a lovely listen.

Boring AF

The most boring book I ever finished. If the privileged white woman protagonists ever encountered real problem in their lives they would crumble.
