About this listen

Take a trip to Spindle Cove in New York Times bestselling author Tessa Dare's gorgeous and sexy Regency romance.

Beautiful and elegant, Miss Diana Highwood is destined to marry a wealthy, well-placed nobleman. At least that's what her mother has loudly declared to everyone in Spindle Cove.

But Diana's not excited by dukes and lords. The only man who makes her heart pound is the village blacksmith, Aaron Dawes. By birth and fortune, they couldn't be more wrong for each other . . . but during stolen, steamy moments in the smithy, his strong hands feel so right.

Is their love forged strong enough to last, or are they just playing with fire?

Her: “You need a wife who can cook.”
Him: “You need a husband who can move in society.”
Her: “Your sister might never accept me.”
Him: “Your mother might implode.”

I often complain about romances built off failures to communicate, but the ease in which this couple
got on made for an uneventful story.

Her: “You must think me ridiculous- I am ridiculous.”
Him: “You’re not ridiculous.”
No, she got it right: she’s a well-bred lady who’s got servants to cook for her, so why would she ever offer to cook him a meal and think it would turn out okay? They might speak frankly, but she was that kind of silly goose who means well and yet hasn’t got a clue about the real world. Between the bland, effortless romance and her being ridiculous, I felt neither the romance nor the chemistry.

Bland as milk toast

Don't Bother...
Extremely disappointed. I don't think I cared what happened to the blacksmith or sister. This story is hard to follow and you pay the same as a full length book on audible. The books in this series up to this point are fantastic and well worth your time.

don't waste your money. you pay the same as a ful

Least favorite of the Spindle Cove series. Carolyn Morris is a great narrator. What a waste of her talent on this book.
