About this listen

A wild witch hunt. New enemies have arrived. The clock is ticking.

I might have successfully repelled the first attack on my sanctuary, but now I’ve got bigger problems.

I’ll need to grow my bonded circle, develop new skills, and earn additional cards to ensure I can complete the quest that has been given to me, protect my sanctuary, and become the caretaker I'm destined to be.

With my budding city, a few interesting cards, and the amazing women at my sides, I shouldn’t have any issues taking care of my loose ends.

That is, as long as an unruly goblin army, a furious spider queen, and corrupt Council members don’t cause too many issues along the way.

Protect. Bond. Attack.

Better get moving before the next full moon.

Good story but could improve

Definitely not as great as book 1. I felt the combat could have been better. There were also a number of questions that the MC seemed to outright ignore. Also, there were some scenes that felt a bit rushed.

Hopefully book 3 will not have the same problems.

Awesome Sequel

When it comes to a sequel, I am personally looking for everything that made the last book worth it and then some. In my opinion that is this book. I like checking out the relatively new authors because in my opinion they're more likely to take risks than the tried-and-true writers. I also like seeing them grow as writers. I've certainly enjoyed the story thus far and look forward to more from this author. I would say that the unique element in this story centers around the card system, at least in my opinion. The narration team is definitely among my top five all-time favorite narration teams. They did the narration work for this author’s other series “Bonded Spirits” which is currently available as a 4 in 1 audiobook. I think it's worth checking out and if you don't want to commit to the audiobook you could always pick it up in eBook form especially if you've got Kindle Unlimited. I don't want to risk spoiling anything for anybody when it comes to the book but I will share the information that I was interested in once I got to the ending of this one. The first question I always have is “when's the next book coming out?” I don't know about the audio but book three is currently out and available in eBook form which you can pick up through Kindle Unlimited. The author does have his own website which is listed in his bio on Amazon along with a Patreon. The Patreon appears to have the usual fare such as digital cover art, maps, early chapters, etcetera. Lastly, I'll just say well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this story to us, the Audible listeners.

great follow-up

yes I received this title for free and no that doesn't make my review biased. I love the premise of this book. a card playing game world set in an alternate Wisconsin filled with monster women, what's not to love? oh yeah the narrators are two of the best in the game. worth the purchase.

MC isn’t much.

Not sure why the author wants to write about a MC that is terrible at saving people. When it comes to this guy, If you’re not a hot monster girl you’re going to die. Children? They all die. Towns people? They all die. Everybody dies. The MC sucks. He can punch and head-but women but can’t seem to save anyone that he’s not banging. An entire town gets slaughtered, including children, and the few people who survive immediately want to have an orgy? Really!? WTF

Not as good as the first. The writing is average for this. So many questions the MC ignores.

I'm pretty sure I'm missing a chapter

chapter 29 and 30 (I could be wrong but it's right around there give or take a chapter) are the same chapter repeating, and we are missing the deal? with the witch, one second they are talking, the next he is getting off the table and going to battle then 1 or 2 chapters later we have the repeat chapter, and it's bugging me that I don't know what happened or how they ended up that way.

other than that the story is ok, if I had to rate it outta 10 it's a 6 or 7. I love the premise but I feel like the book is missing something or forgetting something. (I'm not talking about the chapter mishap either)
I will probly be getting the next book, and I still have like 2 hours left. I feel like there is a lot of potential for this seires

eeeh

I think the basic story is good but the writing is weaker. the best writing is when the story and characters are consistent and the story unfolds without a creative writing. like divine intervention or a trusted well liked character was behind everything or when the story lacks information. this story has massive holes so the entire plot makes zero sense. spoiler alert!!!!!! why does the council want the sanctuary gone. it is totally unexplained. there is no reason they should want it gone, they created it as a sanctuary for magical creatures . so entire plot of our mc battling the council, is unexplained.
our mc is u p and lucks his way through most battles.
the narration is excellent and it is a very nice listen . I will probably get volume 3 to find out what kind of explanation the author can give as to why the Mc and council are fighting.

Amazing Series!

I’m a huge fan of Jack Daniel and he delivers here! The story is still a treat and the women are hot! The audio team is very talented
