About this listen

Dying was only the start of Asher's life. He would be Reborn a Hero.

Asher Merrick never thought a night out with his college friend would cost him his life. Gathos, God of the Lost, has granted him an opportunity—a second chance he doesn't intend to waste.

Thrust into a magical world of dragons and danger, swords and sorcery, might and magic, Asher Merrick is ready to prove himself. He's ready to prove that the extraordinary power he received will unlock his potential and help his powerful and beautiful new allies.

Will this power be enough to help him and his new companions solve the mystery in Naled's underbelly? Can he and the Red Breaker guild prevent another incursion of undead from destroying the port city? And will Asher be able to protect those that he holds most dear to him?

Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: he's just getting started.

Intended for mature listeners.

outstanding story

First off let me just say there is nothing that I disliked about this story.

The writing was amazing, the story flowed well and the voice actors knocked it out of the park!

Good start

The book is a slow burn on our mc and is abilities. Also plot was good with some twists. The characters are great and unique. Looks like book 2 could be great, but with no weird cliffhangers it ended nicely with many possible directions.
The narrators did an excellent job and is an easy listen.

Great start

Great start to a new series. I hope to see many more books added to this series.

So close but a few misses

First off, the narrators were great! I gave them 5 stars.
The basics of the story were also fun and inventive. The 'spice' was super duper cringe in this book. It didn't flow with the story and were annoying interruptions to the story. I'm happy the MC wasn't a standard Isekai perma-virgin but it wasn't a plus.
The magic and battle system were interesting and the end of the book hinted at a much large system for the MC. I'd give a book 2 a chance, but i'll just FFWD the 'spice.'

Not good

This wasn’t a good listen. It’s been dog shit since the beginning when the mc meets girl on cover then immediately have a sex scene. It made any development in this terrible. Mc is also a complete simp. 10/10 wouldn’t recommend

It starts ok, but gradually worsens.

It starts ok, but gradually worsens. Sprinkled with purple prose that makes the story longer and more confusing than necessary.

Plot is ok I guess.

the plot is decent ish I reckon. The characters are all over the place, and the hero never really gets any better. The main cast flip flop all over the place with trust and stuff. couldn't stand it after 2/3rd of the book
