About this listen

A wounded warrior. A forbidden love. And one last chance...

Dayton Nash was never allowed to love Summer Sullivan. She's was his best friend's little sister. Touch her? He couldn't look at her without feeling his best friend's wrath.

So he went to war. And he survived - barely. He's a broken man with a broken body. Every heartbeat is agony...even after all these years.

He's still not allowed to love Summer.

Summer thought she'd never see Dayton again. Not after he broke her heart. Not after he left her behind.

She thought wrong.

Dayton's new life is a minefield of secrets and pain. Loving him is dangerous. The hurt between them is hot enough to burn.

It doesn't matter. Summer can't leave him behind. She won't.

But Dayton's secrets are deadly. And if they want to build a life...they must survive the sins of his past.

Contains mature themes.

Difficult to get through

The story, overall, isn’t too bad. The suspense of Day’s secret is the ONLY thing that kept me going. The narration is TERRIBLE, both female and male parts. I think the book would have been better to read for this one, as the narration on the audiobook is so bad.

Quick easy read

It was good& entertaining. I didn’t skim or skip& it kept my attention. It’s included in the Plus Catalog & can be read as a standalone. Book 2 is About the fmc’s brother& is also an entertaining read.

Great story and narrative

It’s great story. Narrative makes storytelling relevant. FMC is positive and wants help. MMC punish himself but through story he learns to forgiving himself.

Dayton and Summer

A heartbreakingly beautiful, intensely captivating and charming romance. Dayton and Summer are two people who were clearly meant to be together it may have taking some time to for them to get together and amongst all the chaos they find an amazingly deep connection that pulls them through it all. I enjoyed this story.

Cute, best friend’s sister romance

Army Veteran and his best friend’s little sister love story. Mentions of PTSD type military veteran issues. Surprise pregnancy, but both people loved the other.

Blah

Was not interested in the story and even the sex scenes were bad. Dayton had no redeeming qualities. Poor summer is the quintessential example of a sweet girl who picks the wrong men.

I DNF’d it

I had a really hard time following the story. There wasn’t enough details and it skipped around a lot. I didn’t finish the book so maybe it got better?
