This book is a collection of short stories (non-fiction) about evil, depraved killers from all eras and locations. Despite the author's overuse of the word "despite" and the narrator's somewhat odd cadence, I enjoyed this audiobook. Fans of the macabre won't be disappointed -- there are a lot of killers and crimes here I had never heard of (and I consider myself a true crime buff).

These people are indeed "beyond wicked"

This is an interesting collection of short articles involving true crime cases through the ages. Some of these are truly horrific and give the reader pause at the true evil in some people. Many of the tales were new to me and a few I had read about before. This book (and others like it) give the reader a "just the facts" approach without a lot of embellishment. I find that this gives me the chance to research further into the stories that I find most interesting. The writing style is good and the authors have presented the crimes with a sympathetic point of view to the victims.

The narrator did a pretty good job, but there were several instances of mispronounced words (mostly town's names) and repeated sentences/phrases, A good editing of the finished audio would have been a good thing for this book.

There are 40 (I think) short stories in this collection, each one a different case. Going in, I thought it would be fewer cases with a more in depth look at each, but I was still pleased with it. I would describe the chapters as snippets into each case, along with the what happened to the perpetrator (if caught..). This book definitely made me want to look up multiple cases I’ve never heard of to find out more. The chapters were short, sweet and to the point, but some of the cases were so wild that I just need to know more! I was also pleasantly surprised that there were a lot of cases I’d never heard before and some of them blew my mind! If you are a fan of true crime, this is a quick, interesting read!

This was a really interesting book. Each chapter was about a different crime. There were a few crimes that I was familiar with before reading this book, but there were a lot that were new to me. Being a true crime fan, it's always nice to find a book that covers crimes I don't know about. I do think it would have been helpful to the reader to have the year and location at the beginning of each chapter. I listened to the audiobook version. The narrator had a good voice for narration and was easy to listen to. There were a couple spots where there were sentences repeated, which I assume is an editing thing. Overall, a good listen.

Interesting crimes!
