About this listen

Missy Roper's fantasies have revolved around Graham Winters since the moment they met. But the imposing leader of the Silverback werewolf clan always seemed oblivious to Missy's existence. At least he was, until Missy collides with him at a party and then abruptly runs away---arousing Graham's interest...and wild desires. Lupine law decrees that every Alpha must have a mate, and all Graham's instincts tell him that the sensual, beguiling Missy is his. Trouble is, Missy is human---every delectable inch of her. Convincing his clan that she's his destined mate, and keeping her safe from his enemies, will be the biggest challenge Graham has ever faced. And now that he is determined to have her---as his lover and as his mate---Missy's world is changing in ways she never imagined.

missed the mark for me

Missy is an idiot and annoying. She sits there whining and crying, telling herself to remember this (being with HIM) isn't going to last. It's an interlude. She needs to keep her heart safe. While HE is insisting they're MATES. How the hell does she think mates are temporary??? The angst here is annoying and repetitive. She wants him. He's saying he wants to keep her. She doesn't listen, thinking he's going to get tired of her. Stupid.

The writing wasn't great either. For example: "Frowning, Missy unlocked the door with a puzzled frown." 🤦🏼‍♀️

The mate hunt made absolutely zero sense and seemed like it was just thrown in there for dramatic effect. The narration wasn't awful but I strongly disliked her voice for Graham. I understand he's supposed to be growly but ... It just missed the mark for me.

I loved this book!

I don't usually give books a 5 star rating unless they are spectacular. This has been my favorite Christine Warren book so far. If you like paranormal romance, this book (and the series) is a must!

LOVED IT!!

What made the experience of listening to Big Bad Wolf the most enjoyable?

Great story (one of Christine Warren's best in my opinion), and really good narration (very sexy voice for Graham). This kept me very good company on a long flight to Asia. Highly recommended.

Insecurities Got Me Like

This book was a good addition to the series, but I did not enjoy this book as much as book 1. The main character Missy is full of insecurities causing her to question everything Gram says or does. I understood at first because everyone gets insecure at times, but when she was still doing it at the end of the book I began to get frustrated.

Good Things Come in Small Packages!

This book was fantastic, even though it was short compared to many of my reads. Even with the abbreviated length, it still had fantastic character development and a juicy, edge of your seat story line. I was seriously impressed. The first book in the series was pretty good, but this one did exceed it, pushing close to perfection when it comes to what I like in a paranormal romance.

While the narrator did a pretty terrific job with most elements in reading this story, I'm afraid I wasn't all that thrilled with the voice she gave to Graham, our male lead. To say she made him sound gruff is an understatement. Yes, he is a werewolf, but I don't particularly find a voice that sounds more like a cartoon characterization of a dog talking than a sexy shapeshifter. It was definitely on the "too gruff" side of things. Despite that minor distraction, I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good paranormal story. While it would be better to read or listen to the first book in the series first, it's not necessary. Most certainly worth a credit!!!
