About this listen

Big Girl Panties by Stephanie Evanovich is a rollicking and poignant romantic comedy about a young widow who decides to get in shape...and winds up getting her groove back - and a whole lot more!

Holly Brennan used food to comfort herself through her husband's illness and death. Now she's alone at age 32. And she weighs more than she ever has. When fate throws her in the path of Logan Montgomery, personal trainer to pro athletes, and he offers to train her, Holly concludes it must be a sign. Much as she dreads the thought of working out, Holly knows she needs to put on her big girl panties and see if she can sweat out some of her grief.

Soon, the easy intimacy and playful banter of their training sessions lead Logan and Holly to most intense and steamy workouts. But can Holly and Logan go the distance as a couple now that she's met her goals - and other men are noticing?

I downloaded this book after listening to the sample and just loved the plot line and narrator. About 30 minutes into listening at my desk the book took a little erotic turn. It was a bit unexpected but luckily it didn't take up the whole book.

I enjoyed the story. I found it cute and something a little different than what I'm used to and I liked the witty banter. The only con I would have is that it was a bit long.

Not for the office

From the first few pages I was hooked! There was such a good story line I felt like I was emotionally involved from the start. Every chapter left me wanting to hear more and that to me is what makes a good book!

A must read!!

this was an interesting read. a co worker of mine suggested it to me. she loves this book and in all honesty I do too. very well written and great story line pulled me into the story right from the beginning. I find myself wanting more. great read lots of laughs and some tears. only thing I can say is yes there are a couple graphic r rated scenes but good for a younger (20+) audience

Would you consider the audio edition of Big Girl Panties to be better than the print version?

Can't say, as I have not read the book, just listened to the audio verison

If you’ve listened to books by Stephanie Evanovich before, how does this one compare?

Not exactly what I have come to expect from Evanovich. Far to "romancey" and not near enouch comedy & quirky characters for me.

What does Katie Schorr bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Her voice is nice.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Don't think it really rates a film version.

Any additional comments?

Just not my cup of tea, I guess

A bit different than expected

I liked the book for the most part. I just thought it was sad that he didn't want her until she lost weight. I personally would have told him to go to hell.

Big girl panties, great title!

What did you love best about Big Girl Panties?

I bought it because Janet Evanovich is one of my favorites and I thought perhaps Stephanie was related. I loved this book!!!

I loved it!!

Would you listen to Big Girl Panties again? Why?

Yes, I would listen again! I'm sure I missed something. Besides, the story and main character struck a chord with me. I'm sure it might with several of the female readers out there in Audibleland.
There are a few salaciously steamy parts that took me by surprise. The whole book was a pleasant surprise!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Honestly, my favorite "character" was the COUPLE, consisting of Holly and Logan. It was gratifying to watch each of them slowly and painfully interact and grow, day by day.

What about Katie Schorr’s performance did you like?

Katie Schorr nailed it! She handled both female and male voices easily without becoming ridiculous or grating. She was so consistent, it sounded as though she read the entire book in one take. Her voice was pleasant and melodic and she was able pronounce ALL the words correctly!!

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did laugh several times and teared up a few, too. I didn't want a gut-wrenching read when I chose this book, and it wasn't. I was, however, emotionally invested all the way through.

Any additional comments?

Oddly enough, this was my first Stephanie Evanovitch book. It won't be my last. :)

Great Chick Lit with just a touch of Bodice Ripper
