Publisher's summary

What makes Bitcoin so special? What sets Bitcoin apart from every other monetary asset that preceded it? What is a monetary asset, in the first place? What is money? What is inflation? Who benefits from it? What is scarcity? Is Bitcoin's mining process wasteful? Is Bitcoin a religion or a rejection of religious beliefs? All of this and more are discussed in this audiobook.

Don't be fooled thinking this is a book about math

This is a well written description of what challenges we are facing with our current economic system. And also what is possible when a large enough part of our society has discovered what Bitcoin has to offer.

Underrated Book

Enjoyed every second of it. Explains why bitcoin is not your everyday invention in a very clear way. Listening to Guy Swann read the book was also a great experience.

Loved everything about it. The message, delivery and execution are top level.
The author has amazing skill of delivering complex messages in a very simple to grasp format.

shallow analysis

The analogies used demonstrate the shallowness of thought. This makes it difficult to take the author serious

It's an opinion, lacking citations & information

Audible continues to disappoint with their inability to sort their content appropriately. This isn't information. The author isn't Marx, Ricardo, Smith, or Keynes. Even Marx fails to express value and glosses over coinage as a phase of the development of money in a state (he gets a pass for not having easy access to information in the 19th century). There is no excuse for having this rambling nonsense anywhere near mathematics, engineering or technology. This work should be with those books you you don't tell your friends about (and not in a Mein Kampf way either, that other stuff.)

Not thrilled

Good book, good info, feels like it goes off topic and comparisons are made to Bitcoin that just felt sloppy to me, maybe I’m biased. Not bad, not great.
