Publisher's summary

Being the sole survivor of the Van Helsing family was never a burden I wanted to carry.

Yet here I am, an orphan with a score to settle against Dracula for orchestrating the near genocide of my bloodline. One small kink in that plan: I was turned into the blood-sucking creature I was born to destroy.

Being admitted into the Dark Imaginarium Academy to hone my new skills as a vampire and to survive the blood lust is the first step towards achieving my revenge. No one is prepared for me to infiltrate their ranks, but I know they aren't going to let me get my revenge without a fight.

What I'm not ready for is the three vampires that make my blood burn for an entirely different reason.

Luckily, I'm okay with coating my nails with the entrails of anyone who stands in my way.

My name is Alina Van Helsing, and I'm out for blood.

Bite of Loyalty is the first book in the Blood Oath series. It is a paranormal romance featuring a female lead with a backbone made of steel and three men who will fight her tooth and nail as she is on her path of vengeance. If you love enemies to lovers romance, dark secrets, sassy and strong heroines, plus forbidden love, look no further. Intended for mature listeners.

Great story but mediocre narrators

I have the same thing to say for all four books from the series. The author did a great job of creating a fast paced story that kept me invested the whole time. Maybe it could've been 2 books instead of 4 but I also understand why they ended up split up. Alina is a strong FMC. Her mates are strong and dominating when she needs them to be but open and vulnerable also when she needs them to be. The spicy scenes are hot because of their dynamics.

The narrators just don't have range. Brooke Daniels barely seemed to change her voice between all of the female characters. When she had to voice a male character her solution seemed to just be adding a weird rasp to her voice. Noel Harrison seemed to differentiate between the male characters a little better, but when it came to voicing female characters he's so bad at it that it feels like he's mocking the female characters

Devoured in one go!

Wow what a badass FMC! The strife and heartache she goes through, the bullies around every corner and her relentless courage to face each up hill battle was truly a treat. Plus that plot twist at the end?!?! I can’t wait for book 2!
The narrators were amazing, I’m not a big fan of female narration due to that shrillness most get when they are expressing any emotion wasn’t here in the book, she expressed a wide range of emotions with a alto voice that didn’t make me cringe lol
Nole Harrison is one of my top favorite narrators, he’s growly deep baritone gives me goosebumps in all the right ways, and he knows when to use it! When the MMCs felt emotion, I could hear it. He is always an instant but when I see his name!

NOOO!!! I need the next book!!

I was super intrigued about this book based on the summary. It exceeded my expectations. This book is FANTASTIC! The story gripped me off the bat and never eased up!! But now I’m suffering from cliffhanger despair!! My only small criticism is I wish there were a few more chapters giving the MMC’s insight on a few plot twists. I’m SOOO glad that this was released with male and female narrators. The more audiobooks I listen to, the more not having dual narrators is a deal breaker for spending a credit. If you are a fan of paranormal romance especially RH, you gotta give this one a chance. Absolutely worth the credit

Surprisingly good!

Loved this book! Strong FMC and good storyline. My only complaints are that it is a really short book and now I have to wait for more. The narrators are great but I do wish it was true duet narration. All in all it was very entertaining and can’t wait for more! That ending ! 🤩

Amazing story !

A good read ! I loved Alina’s character and how strong of an FMC she was . She was dealt with a traumatic hand but was able to hold her head up high while she dealt with the trauma of her losing her family and dealing with being changed into a vampire.
I loved her men Lincoln is fire ! Andrei has me excited for the next book .
I also loved how there were characters from other dark imaginarium academy sprinkled in .

The narrators were amazing as well I’m a big fan of Brooke daniels the male narrator was new to me but I thought he did a great job .

Another great RL Caulder PNR RH!

This is one of my all time favorite paranormal why choose series ✨

Tropes:
- paranormal why choose
- vampires
- academy
- strong fmc
- really possessive mates
- incredible world building
- enemies to lovers (literally)
- spicy af

Alina Van Helsing, from the most prestigious house of slayers, had her whole world taken from her in one night. One minute she is living it up before having to marry another slayer, the next, her entire family is gone and she’s unaliving her mom before she could turn into a vampire. As she is doing what she promised to her mom, she is turned, and the vampire whispers that it was Dracula’s doing. But was it him??? Maybe??? Who knows?? 👀😂

She wakes up in a blood haze, and after an unfortunate incident, is banished, and that is when she arrives at Dark Imaginarium Academy ✨

I think I resonate so much with this series because Alina starts off with so much self hatred. She doesn’t think she deserves anything. While she never loses her fire or sass, she does start to see her worth, and as someone who struggles with this exact thing, RL Caulder beautifully writes about how to love yourself again ✨

Alina’s journey with overcoming her trauma and grief was beautiful, heartbreaking, and exactly what my heart needed to read 🖤

Get ready for a WILD ride ✨

Alina’s mates:
- grumpy professor
- cinnamon roll playboy-ish
- a really old hot guy 👀😂

If you’re an audiobook girly like me, do yourself a favor and go get books 1 and 2 nowwwww 🖤🖤🖤

Entire series is on kindle unlimited ✨

Loved the concept but the male dialogue is disturb

I’m all about romance and a little hard sex but I was so put off by the male dialogue. He starts off with putting his c@ck in her mouth and c@mming so hard she has tears streaming down her cheeks- just so disturbing from his perspective. I really liked the concept and strong female lead but lost me very early on from the male persepctive.

Eh.

I was really interested in the premise. Very original. Overall the story wasn’t unbearable but it was very predictable.

It uses the same old formula of miscommunication to carry parts of the story forward. I’m tired of authors using this tactic.

Again I’m interested in the story I just wish it was done better. Also they’re supposed to be in their 20s and the men especially sound at least in their 40s. I realize that’s not the authors fault but it is distracting.

When she finally meets her nemesis it’s very obvious he doesn’t know who she is or what she’s talking about so again miscommunication. Annoying.

Also some warning in the description that it’s super sexual. I don’t have an issue with it but usually I know what I’m getting into. There souls be a heads up, I was listening in public when all of a sudden a new chapter started and it was all “cock this” and “cock that”

I might try the second book when it’s released to see if it gets better, but overall I was really disappointed.
