Mark Dawson (author of the best-selling John Milton series) continues the action-packed quest for revenge begun by Beatrix Rose in In Cold Blood.
Ten years ago, Beatrix Rose headed an off-the-books hit squad that did the dirty work of the British Government. When she discovered that the commander of the squad was corrupt, he sent five of his assassins to rub her out.
But they failed. Bad mistake.
There were six names on Beatrix's Death List, and now there are four. She's going to account for the others, one by one, even if it kills her.
Beatrix has returned from Somalia with a fresh target in her sights. Bryan Duffy is in Iraq, surrounded by mercenaries, with no easy way to get to him and no easy way to get out.
Will Duffy prove to be a challenge too far?
Fans of In Cold Blood will know all about the unlimited action, but until you've listened to Blood Moon Rising, you'll only know one third of the story!

YOU GO GIRL!!!

Beatrix Rose is a former covert British agent on a mission. And although it's a personal mission, she pursues it with single-minded professionalism. I normally tend to avoid spy novels with female leads because they're all too often the spy version of a "Bond girl" but Beatrix Rose is different. She's smart and level-headed, the kind of person who lives down the block or whose child goes to school with yours. There is an element to her circumstance that creates additional urgency for her to complete her mission, and it ratchets up the story's suspense level. This is an interesting, compelling story and Mark Deakins' narration is pitch perfect -- not too dramatic nor too flat. He really brought the story to life for me.
When the sequel to Blood Moon Rising is released, I'll be picking up a copy to catch up on Beatrix's next adventure. Highly recommend Blood Moon Rising to spy thriller and suspense fans.
Interesting story and smart, relatable female lead

The characters are well developed, believable, and likeable (I really have to have someone to root for in a story). There is a unique aspect to this series as you begin to see the relationship between Rose and her daughter. I feel like there is something special in store for the daughter, I just don't know what yet. The narration is well done as well. Overall a great quality audiobook.
If you haven't read the John Milton series yet, you can stil enjoy this series - it stands on its own. Although - you may want to read the John Milton series first because there are some references to that series in the Beatrix Rose stories.
I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series...

Where does Blood Moon Rising rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
right up there with the bestWhat did you like best about this story?
Beatrix Rose has a list. She is crossing out names and getting her revenge.Blood Moon Rising is the second installment of the Beatrix Rose thrillers by Mark Dawson. It continues Beatrix's quest to seek revenge on those that have taken so much from her. It is just as good as the the first book, In Cold Blood, and it left me in anticipation for the final chapter to come
.
Have you listened to any of Mark Deakins’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
This is the second performance by Mark Deacon's that I have listened to in this series. They both have been enjoyable and well done. Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
When Beatrix helps the young girl and her imprisoned teenage brother, to her own detriment, even though she is hell bent on getting her revenge.Any additional comments?
I am looking forward to reading and listening to a lot more of Mark Dawson's books, past (Milton series) and future (Isabella Rose series). His books are well written and full of the action and suspense that makes you keep listening. She is crossing out names & getting her revenge...
