Betrayal and Loyalty

I love the fact that we get to jump back into the Paranormal Council world with this new book. While this book is in the Paranormal Council world it is a standalone book. There are plenty of twist, turns, deadly secrets and unexpected love wrapped up in this great book

4/5

It’s been a while since I’ve read this series and I forgot how fun it was. Mostly suspense with a hint of romance Blood and Deceit follows Tabitha as she does what she needs to in order to survive while keeping her magic clean and meeting her unlikely mate. Blood and Deceit was a lot of fun and made me want to read the books I’ve missed in this series.

I received this audiobook for free from Audiobook Obsession. This is my honest and voluntary review.

Narration very good

Tabitha is searching for answers about her brother; his well-being, his whereabouts. Having exhausted all legal avenues, she has turned to the black market. When an exchange of life force-black market magic goes wrong, she finds herself entangled with a member of the High Council who also happens to be her mate. When Tabitha finally finds the answers she was searching for it could mean death to her and her new mate, change the balance of power in necromancer society, and endanger the whole paranormal universe.

This was not my favorite from the Paranormal Council series. I never connected with the characters or with their relationship and I was frustrated at times by their decisions. I'm also frustrated by the continuing discrimination of the High Council towards necromancers. It seems that their type of magic was originally singled out as "too different, too dangerous" and the initial discrimination led to unsavory groups gaining power within the fringe group. Time for fresh starts!

I did enjoy the narration more than the story. Jess Combs did a wonderful job.

Great read!

I highly recommend this book. Well plotted and laid out. While listening with my eyes closed I could picture everything that was going on. Between the story line and the narrators voice it was a beautiful blend. I paranormal thriller I didn’t see the end coming!

GREAT LISTEN!!!

Tabitha is doing some shady things that could get her in a lot of trouble if she’s not careful. She finds an unlikely ally, and they find themselves in tricky circumstances time and again. The story just keeps moving, making you not want to put the book down. The author has a good way of describing scenes and suspense, making you feel like you are right there seeing it with the people involved and feeling with their feeling. Along with the many twists and turns of the plot, a true romance developed between the hero and heroine, and they do have great chemistry. It was a wild, I recommend this one it was a fun listen. 🎧AudiobookObsession
