About this listen

She’s an innocent.

Caught in the wrong place at the wrong time.

My Angel is the one who got away—the only person in the world I love. When she is caught in an unsanctioned bank robbery in my territory, only my reputation protects her.

She should have stayed away.

Instead, she charges back into my life like a shining beacon in my otherwise bleak existence. She has no place in my world where hardened criminals toy with the lives of the innocent.

A better man would let her go—again.

There’s no white picket fence in life with a Bellandi, and she deserves so much more. I pushed her away once, but now that she’s back I won’t let anything else come between us.

Not even Ivory herself.

Bloodied Hands is a full-length standalone novel with dark content. The Bellandi Crime Syndicate Series includes several full-length standalones that can be listened to in any order, but would present a better listening experience following the suggested listening order.

A bit of a miss on audio

I had some issues with the story, but the female narrator really ruined it for me. So flat and monotone and didn’t do a good job with the occasional Italian words thrown in (i.e. cara mia). It just really took me out of the story, which was already just “meh” for me. The “hero” did a couple of unforgivable things and there was zero grovel. Not even a come to Jesus with the heroine. She just accepted it because his fears about her safety were proven true.

Not sure I’m going to continue the series, but I definitely will NOT be continuing on audio if the narrator is the same.

Brutal narration

The narration was brutal. The female was whining and monotone. Males voice wasn’t much better. I powered thru it but will not listen to book 2 because it has the same narrators.

Weak women make Sick!

Ok, there is being persuaded, and then there is simply weak. Overall, the storyline is ok, but the extreme way the female character just takes everything with little to no pushback is annoying.
Surely, we can do better.

Narrator

From the first minute I was not sure if I will make it to the end… I could not stand the female narrator. I’ve checked opinions and agree with all regarding it. Question in each sentence… I am sure the author did not want get character to be whiny and weak, but narrator has made her so. Out of respect, as I am a polish writer too, I have listened to the end. To the narrator- your voice is ok, but please work with someone and learn. You can do it, but you need someone to teach you how to not waste author’s work. You can do it!

Female voice was awful

The male voice was smooth and sexy but the female voice was so annoying I almost didn’t listen to the whole story
Had to stop to get a break from her voice

Loved it!

Great story and great characters. Bravo! I’m a new fan of the author. I can’t wait to read her other books.

Bloodied Hands

WTH 🤦🏼‍♀️ Who chose the female narrator? They should be fired! The voice was awful (no offense to Ms. Kelly) it was sooo wrong for this book the only saving grace was Patrick Zeller’s yummy voice.🫦 Storyline was good, ending with an HEA & a bambino was helpful lol. Is it worth a credit? NO, thankfully this book was free!

The lightest book I’ve ever read by Adelaide!

Granted it’s only the 3rd series but both of the others?! 😮‍💨Those bad boys are DARK! I think I read somewhere that this one wasn’t as dark as her norms thought to be fair. After I got over the surprise of that, I got into it! She is still her same amazing writer as always so the story still clipped right along at a good pace. Our H and h are second chance lovers as they were childhood sweethearts turned enemies in high school when certain things went down. They reconnected as adults and worked through trust issues, add a side of another being in love with our h (well TWO men wanted her actually!) and we had some good ole drama!
I listened mostly and only read a bit but the narrator Meghan Kelly almost ruined the whole listen for me. She sounded like a wounded older whiny woman the ENTIRE time and not like a 20 something’s…AT ALL! I think she was cast way wrong for the part but would have excelled at like a day Danielle Steel book for sure. Then you have Patrick Zeller on the other side who sounded authentic with a light accent. I’d listen to him read again for sure.
All in all, not one of my favs by Adelaide Forrest but not bad enough to turn me off her novels either. This is a good intro to darker romance if you are new to the genre!

Female narrator ruins it

This is my 4th time trying to read this book. I really want to read this series but all the books are narrated by her and idk if I can do it.

The narrator for Ivory, she has a whiney voice that constantly sounds like it’s cracking.

Her awful way of reading , she can do better when she speaks as another person , why doesn’t she use that voice?
