About this listen

Being attracted to her isn't wrong…but acting on it would be.

As the patriarch of the powerful and wealthy Cavalieri family, my choices come with consequences for everyone around me. The roots of my ancestral, billionaire-dollar winery stretch deep into the rich Italian soil, as does our legacy of ruthlessness and scandal.

It isn't the fact she is half my age that makes her off-limits. Nothing is off-limits for me. A wounded bird caught in a trap not of her own making, she poses no risk to me. My obsessive desire to possess her is the real problem—for both of us.

Now that I've seen her and tasted her lips, I can't let her go. Whether she likes it or not, she needs my protection. I'm doing this for her own good, yet she fights me at every turn. Refusing the luxury I offer, desperately trying to escape my grasp. I need to teach her to obey before the dark rumors of my past reach her. Ruin her.

She cannot find out what I've done—not before I make her mine.

Lose yourself in the steamy, enemies-to-lovers drama of the Cavalieri men beginning with book one, Scandals of the Father.

Excellent Storyline

I love the the portrayal of the characters. The spoken Italian made it a little difficult to follow the story at times but keep readers linked to the setting of the story.

Mixed

I did not like the rape vibe. There was no, stop and it hurts. Not ok. I really enjoyed the female narrative and the setting . I also enjoyed the friendship between the women. There was actually a point in the story when I said to myself,” I hate him.”

Good book

I’ve always liked Zoey Blake’s books and have enjoyed the performance by podium audio, I’m so glad they haven’t converted to the ai voice bc I refuse to listen to books like that, and take money out of voice actors pockets. It’s a good listen and I’m going on to the next book now!

excellent story

The characters are well liked and loved. The narrators read story with compassion. Well worth the time and price of audio.

It was hard to get into.

The accents threw me off. It was hard to get into a groove with the story/narrators.

Narration rocked, but…

The story was great and the narration rocked, but the spoken Italian interrupted the flow of the narration, especially when it was a lot all together. I felt myself blanking a bit. Sure it sounded nice, but I had no idea what was being said. When it was just a few words at a time, it was easy to pick up the meaning using context.
