About this listen

Acclaimed author Jim Lynch sets Border Songs along a 30-mile strip of Washington state and British Columbia.

When severely dyslexic Brandon Vanderkool is forced to join the Border Patrol, he learns the border is a haven for illegal drug smugglers and other criminals. Meanwhile, disease has struck his father's herd, and his mother is battling something even more debilitating. Each will have to fight for hope in a world changing too fast.

A very nice story and a nice ending. The characters are interesting. I especially liked Norm.

Growing up and living on the canadian border in upstate NY, this book hit home on so many levels. I am not sure if anyone but Poe could have done this book justice. I laughed to tears a few times while on the road and will no doubt listen again in a few months. Well done Mr. Lynch!!!!!!

Fantastic!!

I loved Border Songs. It is unusual, and it is delightfully so. The "hero" is truly heroic. If you are a birdwatcher, you will chirp with delight. (Sorry, couldn't resist.)

Jim Lynch has a special voice as a writer, and the narrator captured it very well. Please do give this book a listen. I'm looking forward to Lynch's third novel, due out soon.

Wonderful!

After hearing Richard Poe read East Of Eden - my favorite book in world so I had expectations - I was so impressed by his performance I sought out other books read by him and bought this without knowing a thing about it. It's a wonderful book.

Engrossing and well narrated.
