Publisher's summary

She's good, she's bad.... She's a little bit wicked.

Thousand-year-old succubus Alexis Rayne is a hired killer with the ability to bring any man or woman to their knees.

With a recent tragedy having left Alexis heartbroken, she isn’t who she used to be.

She drinks too much.

She snaps at everyone.

She makes mistakes.

She’s even become...sloppy.

And this sloppiness is exactly what leads her to screw up during one of her jobs. Now, she has to fix what she’s done.... She has to hunt him down.

During all of this, her boss calls her up to offer her the job of a lifetime. The only problem is, this job implicates the vampire mafia...and the vampires are the reason Alexis is heartbroken. They’re also extremely dangerous.

Will Alexis take this suicide mission? If so, it could change everything...or, it could get her killed.

Born to Be Wicked, the first book in the Demon Employment series, combines cool magic, unapologetic ass-kicking, and a whole lot of snarky attitude.

Eh

The book was okay. I didn't particularly love it or hate it. I'm not sure I'd read it again or not..

Succubi for the Win!

It's an interesting world that the author created. Succubi are a type of fae rather than the typical demon mythology. Alexis works as an assassin, taking out targets set by her employer. She botches a job and tries to fix it. The plot is a little muddled and becomes clearer at the end. I did like Alexis, she would usually attempt to do what's best, but what's best is not always so clear. She has a lot of demons hiding in her past and drinks away the pain. Her best friend was a nice foil to her surliness. I even liked the addition to the teenage witch!
There is F/F and bisexuality in the story, so bigots need not apply. There is also lots of swearing, violence, and some non-explicit steam.
Note: the main character is an alcoholic.

I liked the narrator. I thought she did a good job with all the characters and each of their voices. She added personality and character to everyone. The differentiation between the male and female voices was also good. I thought she had an excellent British accent, too!.

Short but good

This is a short story book. It isn't that bad just not what I was thinking. Very in-depth with the story and characters right at the first page. The title does say it all that it is born to be wicked and evil.

Entertaining!

This is the first book in the Demon Employment, an Urban Fantasy Series. Alexis, a succubus/demon/hitwoman, is a fantastic character, strong, sassy, and badass. I liked her snarky attitude, and her darkness! This first book is entertaining, intriguing, and captivating. The world building is interesting and complex. The supporting characters are great. Katrina Medina did an outstanding job with the narration. She is perfect as Alexis. Now, I am looking forward to listening to Born to Be Devilish, the next book in the series. Sparky and naughty

Alexis is a great character. She is a bit good, bad, and enjoys being naughty. She is a 1000 year old succubus, who will happily use her charms when needed for her purpose. She has asnarky attitude, and a wicked sense of humor. Loved it!

The story and character are well written. I am looking forward to the next book!

Alex

Really enjoy this story! A bada$$ succubus who sometimes makes stupid decisions. She's only 1000 years old what do you expect from her? Lol

Super witty and a well written world/creatures. While she does have a second book and there are plenty of questions that need answers, it's not a huge cliff hanger. Which I love! I like when it feels like the author is more saying there is more to know read on. Not a he's hanging off a building read the next book to see if she's horribly maimed.
