About this listen
Rule-Keeping theological frameworks are failing us.
In Breaking All The Rules, Kristian A. Smith introduces Greatest Commandment Theology as an ancient framework for modern faith. This book doesn't provide answers for your questions. It provides questions for your answers. The challenge
is to remove the question "What does the Bible say about that?" and replace it with "How does the Greatest Commandment apply here?"

Story
How you view your body and your sexuality is informed and strengthened by spiritual practices, but how many of us can say that religion has drawn us closer to our bodies? That's because worship spaces that are intended to be spiritual safe houses have not historically been welcoming to our bodies, forcing us to leave our flesh at the door. In Sensual Faith, Lyvonne Briggs charts a path for us to practice spiritual wellness that aligns and harmonizes our bodies with pleasure and sexuality.

What would it be like to live in a well-rested world? Far too many of us have claimed productivity as the cornerstone of success. Brainwashed by capitalism, we subject our bodies and minds to work at an unrealistic, damaging, and machine‑level pace—feeding into the same engine that enslaved millions into brutal labor for its own relentless benefit. In Rest Is Resistance, Tricia Hersey, aka the Nap Bishop, casts an illuminating light on our troubled relationship with rest and how to imagine and dream our way to a future where rest is exalted.

This book is ground breaking for me. The best way to describe it is “I can’t un-see it”. Now that I’ve seen the truth of the Bible from this stand point this book both pulled me closer to something’s and repelled me from other. It has definitely helped my journey

My New Home...
I do not recall how I happened upon Smith and this movement but I can honestly say, i feel at home. I listen to the podcasts but just recently decided to listen to the audio book. I was not disappointed. In this brief but thorough book, the author gives clarity to his message of Greatest Commandment Theology. Whereas the podcasts offer an introduction, this book is a full entree. I gained a deeper understanding of Smith's theological lense and found myself nodding in agreement with many of his conclusions. There are places I wish he would have pushed the needle further but the fact remains this is a great book to begin one's "theological evolution." This book is destined to change the face of the church and for that I am glad. Thanks Kristian and TFC. Your word is reaching and restoring people you cannot imagine.

I absolutely loved this book. It is enlightening, smart, concrete and easy to understand. My mind was blown several times throughout and then I found myself taking notes. I love that he includes the actual bible scriptures to provide context and gives recommendations for further study on different topics. I'm about to listen again. I believe this book was created for such a time as this.

Agreed!
I read this in a day because it was easy to move through. This is the one of the very few times I’ve heard this perspective made so clear. I’ve resonated with this for so long yet so many people including close friends thought I was off my rocker for this perspective. I’m grateful that Kristian was able to capture & clearly state how quite a few of us feel understanding this perspective. Definitely a recommended read especially those questioning their Christian faith.

Breaking All The Rules
overall, this book was a good read. that did not satisfy me but answered some questions based on theology but but I did not find that the author or writer had a concrete relationship with Jesus. I saw no examples of his walking by faith. it just appeared to be about religious questions about God, but not from a believer who has been born again of God's Spirit. it appears to please today's logic that is satisfying for our culture today . but believers True believer s worship God in spirit and truth and this means that it is spiritual not logical.
