I read this book a while ago, and decided to give the audio a try. Since then, I've listened to two other I-Team books. This one so far is my favorite, in that it is a bit different from the other two, but not by much. They are very formulaic, and only the character's names seem to change. The heroine's life is threatened because of a story she's following, she goes off into hiding/protective custody with hero to protect her, they repeatedly have sex during this time without any commitment (only physical attraction), heroine's life is in mortal danger from the bad guy, hero comes to save the day. Hero has major commitment issues for various reasons, and doesn't admit his love for the heroine until the end, keeps pushing her away even after she tells him she loves him, yet she continues to have sex with him. Oh, and there's always the "am I pregnant?" question hanging in the air.

Lots of strong language, and many graphic sex scenes. A huge turn-off for me is when the F word is used between a couple when they are supposed to have feelings for each other. It just sort of demeans the act. Call me old-fashioned (but not old)

What I like about Ms Clare's books is that she obviously puts in a lot of time researching her subject material, and that makes the stories interesting to me. What I don't like so much is that there is way too much character introspection, which overlaps with the narration. The books could be a lot shorter without all the repetition.

Kaleo Griffith did an excellent job bringing these characters to life, giving each a distinct voice.

Nice Romantic Suspense

Mostly writing this review to applaud the narrator for his gun fire noises.

Our hero and heroine have many brushes with death on their way to their HEA, so the gunfire noises come up a lot. Although /HAY-lo/ for “helo” /HEE-lo/ happened too, the Spanish and accents were value adds.

Quite a trek

Great author. I've really enjoyed her other novels.

Great book. Most of the focus is on the dramatic plot (which is much appreciated). Timely story. True crime-type suspense.

The characters are multi-layered and sympathetic.

The romance is well-written and passionate.

The narrator is amazingly talented. 10 stars!

Loved it!

If you could sum up Breaking Point: I-Team Series, Book 5 in three words, what would they be?

Intense, Intimate, Investigation

What was one of the most memorable moments of Breaking Point: I-Team Series, Book 5?

There are a lot of memorable moments..the first for me was Zach teaching out to Natalie when they were first locked up in Mexico.

Another, but unrealistic was the scene in the desert between Zach & Natalie. VERY hot-in several ways-but enjoyable!

What three words best describe Kaleo Griffith’s voice?

Solid, capable & steady. While I enjoy Kaleo Griffith's work-I have heard others who are more talented-Not sure why all the reviewers are so gaga.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Generally the way Natalie & Zach look out for, and take care of each other throughout different parts of the story.

Any additional comments?

Some strong language, sexual situation & violence.
