About this listen

From USA Today and Wall Street Journal best-selling author L. A. Cotton, comes a slow burn, friends-to-lovers romance. Angst...drama...friendship...and football. Will you survive senior year?

Poppy Ford has been in love with her best friend forever.
But she’s firmly in the friend zone and fears she may never get out.

Aaron Bennet has been dreaming of a football scholarship forever.
But he’s not the Rixon Raiders star player, and he never will be.

While Aaron is focused on proving himself, Poppy is hoping he’ll finally wake up and see what’s right in front of him.

He doesn’t want to lose his best friend.
She doesn’t want to lose senior year to a boy who doesn’t want her.
But fate has other ideas for them.

And when hearts get broken and dreams get shattered, will their friendship be strong enough to survive?

Or will the ties that bind them finally unravel?

A broken read!

When hearts get broken and dreams get shattered, will their friendship be strong enough to survive?
Or will the ties that bind them finally unravel?

I was so excited to be wrapped in this world again with these characters - it felt like coming home.

Although I loved and enjoyed this book, I did not fall in love with it. It felt like at times I couldn't connect with the main characters (which was a bit frustrating since I have been waiting for this sory).

Writing was really good. The story was good. Overall, an enjoyable reading experience.

Perfect for readers of contemporary romances.

Poppy & Aaron

Finally we get Poppy’s story. She has been in love with Aaron, her best friend, for years and has had to witness him always with someone else. After seeing a girl she hates sitting on his lap, she decides it's time to move on and enjoy her senior year with someone else. She tries dating, but she still can’t get Aaron out of her head. Of course now that she is with someone, Aaron keeps finding ways to be where she is. There is a lot of push and pull between while they try and figure out their feelings. It was so beautiful when they finally got together and gave in to their feelings. They were perfectly matched and meant to be together!

The narrators were new to me but made it an easy listen, the pace was kept well and they really got into character.
