About this listen

FBI Special Agent Nick Lawrence is in hot pursuit of a brilliant serial killer.
He’s also the next target on the killer’s list.
The serial killer is known as The Ferryman. His series of unpredictable and horrific murders have terrified the residents of Austin, Texas, and stymied local law enforcement.
Special Agent Cheryl Simmons of the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit is known throughout the Bureau as a legend among their elite profilers. For the better part of the last four years, she’s devoted herself to tracking The Ferryman, and this may be her best chance to catch him.
For the killer has chosen fellow FBI Agent Nick Lawrence as his next victim.
Why?
No one knows.
When will he attack?
No one knows that either.
But the Ferryman is coming.
Soon.
And using Nick as bait is the only way to catch him....
Shea’s third book in the Nick Lawrence series delivers the knockout punch fans have come to expect. Burning Truth is a fast-paced thrill ride filled with twists that will keep you guessing until the very end.

Awesome book! Very suspenseful! I can usually figure it out way before the end, but not this one. Not happy with the ending though!

Great suspense

Brian really is a good writer. I find this series to be way above others of this genre. The characters do get under your skin in good and bad ways. 3 excellent ending twists.

excellent series!

Hated the way Nick was treated. He never was given a break. He was never allowed to win.

Disappointed

I liked the book but it wasn't as good as the first two. It was unrealistic in terms of, two of the bad things happened only because Nick did nothing to stop them.

Spoiler:
The fact that Nick didn't have protective detail on his mom or his girlfriend after she returned home seemed so ridiculous. I know these books are fiction but there's no way an agent wouldn't have people watching his family if someone was trying to kill them. He basically just let it happen. That really bothered me because he's not an idiot so I don't know why he's behaving like one in this book.

Good but not great

The story is excellent. The performance, for the most part, is great. However, I really struggle when words are mispronounced by professional narrators. They should be held to a higher standard when it comes to the spoken word. I've noticed several words mispronounced in all of the books narrated by Conner Goff. I really applaud his performance, but get distracted and disappointed by the mispronounciations.

Great Read!

It was very good but it should not be a full credit. Not even 5 hours. Rip off from audible.

A short story

Fast paced! I am crushed for Nick but I know he will make it back!

Dang, how much can one dude take!

Good character development. Plot was good. Author tried to use expressive language unnecessarily. Narrator mispronounced WAY too many words including some that are everyday language.

Narrator’s mispronunciation ruined it

The reader made it hard to finish . a little sappy for crime a novel.

Good Story

This book is short, but it is an excellent story. Brian Shea is one of my favorite authors and Nick Lawrence's series is my favorite. Highly recommended. Unexpected ending,
