About this listen

When a bank customer calls in a strange complaint, Detective Clint Wolf responds to find the place locked down and no one around. Once inside, he makes a grisly discovery that will set him on an investigative journey filled with unanswered questions, slippery suspects, and a lack of evidence.

Putting this case to bed will be no easy task. However, lucky for him, he has a team of dedicated officers willing to go the extra mile to get things done. The only question is this: Will they be there when he needs them most?

Another Excellent book in the Clint Wolf series. This is the 15th standalone book in the series. As always I suggest listening at least to book 1 first. There is plenty of background you’ll miss if you begin with this book but if you’re not interested in listening to the entire series you can pick up any one and enjoy a complete story.
In this series the main protagonist Clint Wolf is the chief of detectives. His wife Susan is the chief of police. This book begins with what appears to be a bank robbery. Only the bank manager is shot. No money was stolen and Susan and the bank robbers have a shootout.
Meanwhile Clint is contacted by a woman who claims her private investigator has absconded with the money she’s paid him. Clint agrees to go out to check on the man who hasn’t been returning phone calls. When he gets to the PI’s home he finds him hanging in his office.
At first the cases appear to be two separate incidents but are they?
Thomas Stone does a fantastic job narrating. His does a super job with the Louisiana accents.
This book is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
