About this listen

Mr. Shaitana is famous as a flamboyant party host. Nevertheless, he is a man of whom everybody is a little afraid. So when he boasts to Hercule Poirot that he considers murder an art form, the detective has some reservations about accepting a party invitation to view Shaitana's "private collection".

Indeed, what begins as an absorbing evening of bridge is to turn into a more dangerous game altogether.

She Does it Again

I always worry that I will guess the ending, but once again the queen of mystery does it best.

Love it

Classic Agatha Christie & Poirot mystery. Includes Superintendent Battle (not Japp) and Mrs. Ariadne Oliver. No Capt Hastings. The little grey cells go to work to solve the crime, which is left unresolved until the last minute, with lots of other murders & red herrings to entertain us along the way.
The reading by the actor who plays CAPT Hastings is fabulous. Lots of great voices.
Highly recommend.

Always love Hugh Fraser

I’ve read lots of Christie’s books, but I absolutely love Hugh Fraser’s narration. Not only is the story great, but he does a fantastic job of brining the characters to life.

Would recommend any/all of the Agatha Christie books that he reads!

One of her best

This is a bit of an under appreciated gem from her collection. Great story and tremendous narration by Mr Fraser as always.

Confusion confusion!

I have tried to listen to this audible book at least half a dozen times !
the first couple of times I was somewhat preoccupied when I was listening , so then I would go back and re- listen go back and re-listen, but I would still find myself going back and re-listening!!
.... and honestly I've never been more disappointed with one of Agatha's stories !
the murder is definitely committed rather quickly ;before you can get A solid feel for any of the characters...and then the investigations seem to flip-flop all over the place with way too many people and too many conversations thrown into the mix.
As I've purchased this book on audible there's nothing I can do now but to hang onto it maybe someday I'll try it again but I'm already halfway through it and want to scream!
I really was looking forward to another Agatha on Audible I love listening to Hugh Frasier as he narrates.
This one just does not hold my interest at all.

Typical Hercule

I love Agatha Christie but I didn't love this book. I found it too dry; it could of been all the talk of cards...which I find very uninteresting. The narrator, Hugh Fraser, is absolutely superb! Hugh Fraser's narration is what kept me from stopping midway through.

One of Christie’s best, enjoyable!

I have been a fan of Christie mysteries since grade school. Involved plot, just the right amount of humor. certainly holds your interest with a satisfying conclusion!
Hugh Fraser once again delivers a believable, consistent cast of characters. I will listen to it more than once.

My Favorite Story So Far!

Cards on the Table had a completely surprising ending. Very intriguing and unpredictable. Loved the narration as well.
