About this listen

I was born into a world of wealth and privilege. My birthright was to be at the helm of one of the world's leading energy companies. But that wasn't my purpose in life. Sitting behind a desk of a Fortune 500 isn't what gets me going. No. It took me years to find my true purpose. Saving lives. Walking into the depths of hell to pull out survivors. It's what gets me out of my bed in the morning, and eventually, it's what led me to her.

On a day that, to her, must've seemed like the wrong place and wrong time, is where I met my destiny. Michelle Clarke. Our worlds collided and I knew instantly that she was mine. Everything in my life up until this point has been preparing me for her. My childhood. The eight years I spent in special forces. And the last six years spent as a proud member of the Williamsport Fire Department's Rescue 4 squad. All of it was preparation for her. And nothing, not her reluctance, not my brother, and not even her son's father will stand in the way of what belongs to me. My job is to rescue people and put out fires, but I will set anyone who stands in our way, ablaze. I will happily pour the gasoline and light the match and set all of this shit aflame, just to ensure she is where she belongs...with me.

Good!!

The story was good, although the writer could have find a better male narrator. Also I am confused because there is another book called Trust me and it's also a Townsends story, but in that book it's almost same story, but different the oldest was Kyle and took over the company but he was a twin and had another set of twin siblings (boys I believe) and a younger sister. I got confused, bit overall good story.

Alpha Male Personified

I absolutely loved this audible version as well as the printed version. I did not want to stop listening. Carter was an Alpha Male all the way. The instant and continuous loyalty, devotion, and love displayed by him toward Michelle was awesome and unique. The interaction between he, his family, and squad\ family/ friends added a greater dimension to the story. It added to the story's authenticity. I can't wait for the rest of the series to be added to Audible.

It was good

The story was good, It could have Been better. One was the Voice performers. Nothing wrong with their performance It’s just they could have chose a better voice performers for the character voice. And I did not like how they just left The incident of the fires a cliffhanger unless it will continue on the next fire series. And it could have been a bit more to the story. Overall, the story was good only read it to learn a bit of Diego childhood story and how his mom met his new dad.

Enjoyable alpha male romance if kept in purely fantasy context

This is the 2nd in the firefighter series but also crosses over with The Townsends series.

This book was interesting and entertaining without being too sappy despite the instalove. The firemen’s brotherhood broadens the story considerably as we get to know characters over multiple books. Nice spice! 🌶️ Dialogue felt realistic and often funny, how guys talk to each other, and Cendese does a great job with the adult male characters. He But he exaggerates female voices to the point of caricature and it sounds ridiculous. It’s toned down from other books I’ve listened to, but still annoyingly overdone.

The female narrator was quite good overall but pronounced Gabriel “ Gabril.” The FMC had an interesting backstory that made her easy to root for.

Later part of the book I noticed more grammatical errors and such.

I want a Rescue 4 Alpha male

Absolutely loved this book. It is refreshingly when men and women are not running from their feeling but working through them. Both characters had pretty big flaws that they had to except in one another. Lovely romantic fictional

The bad*** firefighters

The author has created a group of people I wish were real. I don't have any favorites I like them all.

Nice story

This was a cute storyline; although the control issues that occurred were not typically how Black women handle things; speaking for myself and a few other sisters. Alexander was so frantic unnecessarily during many of the scenes; however, I found him to be funny, especially when angry. He didn’t do a good job with female or child voices, it sounded a bit cartoonish. Zuzu did a good job with narration. It was enjoyable enough to keep listening.
