About this listen

This is audiobook #11 in the Casca Series.

Cursed by Christ on Golgotha, Casca Longinus is condemned to live out the ages and wander the globe a constant soldier. Forever fighting, surviving, and waiting for Him to return.

Dien Bien Phu was to be France's most glorious victory in the Indo-China War. 11,000 courageous Legionnaires were flown into the valley, totally unaware that 50,000 Viet Minh with heavy cannon were waiting in the hills above them. Though Intelligence Officer Nguyen Tich knew he would lead his Communist forces to victory, only the death of Carl Langers (Casca) could put his own soul to rest...permanently!

Very compelling story in the series of the eternal mercenary. It had many of the great aspects that I’ve come to enjoy.

Revenge on the Viet Minh

the 11th book in this series, casca finds himself in the French Foreign Legion where he reunites with his friend Gus from World War II. he is sent to Vietnam and fights in a battle that is a Prelude to the Vietnam War that will occur many many years later. this book explores the trials and tribulations of that military action. However, the descriptions are very precise and detailed and you find yourself rooting for casca as a hero even though he doesn't necessarily do anything special. it is still a well-rounded story but seems more like a bridge to fill a gap in time of this series. well it is a good story, it is definitely more of a war novel.

pre Vietnam War novel

Gene Engene brings a great story to life by geat voice inflection. I can't get enough.

you can definitely hear Barry Sadler's Vietnam experience is in this story. somewhat formulaic but, if it weren't you wouldn't have read 10 of these already

One of the required books of Casca, as always a fantastic history book to be taken as a grain of salt but respect the grain of salt !

Casca is at it again. He is back to his great old ways. Once again he is in a war fighting. This time he fights and kills like the other times. He is immortal. Great story that is told by the narrator. Gene Engene is awesome as the person who is using his awesome voice to read the story, out loud so it can be recorded and listened to by the listener.
Great book.

Casa is at it again!!!
