The mighty statue of the Greek Titan, Helios, stood proudly in the port of the ancient city of Rhodes, Greece. Legend suggests the Colossus was destroyed by an earthquake...But legends can be wrong.

Present Day: A Stolen C.I.A Document...

An Explosion Rips Into The Sphinx...

Soon after the theft, an explosion rips into Egypt's legendary Sphinx, revealing a secret chamber within the ancient monolith. Upon discovering that the events are linked, the UK's GLENCOM agency, keen to assist the Egyptian Government with the suspected terrorist attack upon one of the world's greatest historical monuments, sends their agent, ex-environmental lawyer, Robert Spire, together with archeologist and Egyptian-Greek mythology expert, Professor Casey Carr, to Cairo to investigate...

Spire and Casey soon make a remarkable discovery, one which leads the pair on an perilous archeological hunt across ancient Egypt and the war-torn lands of Syria for the remains of the Colossus - one of the legendary Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.

A sinister and powerful group of terrorists are also searching for the ancient artifact however, and will stop at nothing to get it, no matter what the cost...

A good Audiobook.

Si Rosser has done it again in my opinion. While overall the story was as good as I expected, I would have liked to have given the Performance a higher rating. I believe that, though Paul Richards is a good Narrator, that there were just too many different voices for him to perform accurately.

Loved the book.

Cataclysm of the Ancients is a well written book that comes alive with this narrator.
I hope to hear more from Mr. Richards soon.

Thriller Beach Read

This book is a bit of fluff in the style of the late Clive Cussler. The vignettes of friends celebrating together are charming and the rest is pure blockbuster entertainment if you are willing to relax and suspend disbelief.

Not a good listen

The author is very verbose and could have made this book shorter.

The characters did not seem real and were bland.

The narration needs a lot of work on pauses, accents, and strange noises.

I was voluntarily provided this review copy audiobook at no charge by the author, narrator, and/or publisher.

Interesting historical plot

Story line is good, with an interesting and enjoyable historical plot. Unfortunately the narrator of this book is a bit of hit and miss. All characters talked slow & accents of people were off, but the rest of the narration was reasonably put together. A lot of noise between chapters. All in all an ok book.

Fun story enhanced by stirring narration

I'm enjoying this story for it's action and basis in historical fact. One of my favorite things is to get new historical knowledge while listening to/reading a rousing story. The narrator of this title is adding a great deal of the fun with an enthusiastic and skillful performance.

Good story; horrible voices

Overall I enjoyed this story. Robert Spire on another action adventure. Once you get used to the Narrator's horrible character voices, the story itself is not too bad.

Great action, adventure, thriller!

Cataclysm of the Ancients
Spire Novel, Book 4
By: Simon Rosser
Narrated by: Paul Richards
This is an audible book I requested and the review is voluntary. This is the kind of story I like! Action, adventure, thrills, touch of the unknown, and characters I can enjoy. There are terrorist, twists, suspense, and an unknown weapon from the past,
The end was strange. I would say unbelievable because they didn't go to the hospital due to formaldehyde but the fact they had a weapon from the past, well....😊
The narration wasn't as good as usual for these books but fair. otherwise I would have given it 5 stars.
Overall, a very enjoyable book!

Another Great Thriller

I enjoyed following Robert Spire as he went on what he thought was a harmless investigation. Turns out he was in for the ride of his life as he tried to save the world yet again. The narrator does an excellent job with the characters. Loved the story.
