About this listen
Mae-Belle Rogers is an independent, quirky young woman running a used auto parts shop in a small Ohio town. Her life takes a surprising turn when she is asked to be a stand-in for her nephew on a trip to meet the star player of the new basketball team that has come to town. The trip, which was supposed to be quick, turns into an evening of discomfort and unease as she endures a tour of Elsu Benjamin's mansion. But her quick visit affects Elsu in a way that even he has a hard time comprehending. Over the next week, Mae slowly realizes that they have developed feelings for each other. When she finds herself flung into a world of celebrity she never knew existed, she learns that Elsu is more than just a crush; he's also a protector and a friend.

Fun sports romance!
I'm always a sucker for sports movies/books that include a romance. This was a very enjoyable listen. I struggled a little with the narrator's male voice, but that would be my only critique. I just happen to love when there is both a male and female narrator. But great story all around! I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

this was a good book that shows not all men want to take advantage of women and that some men are still gentlemen

So surprised!
I was super surprised by this sweet story! I am usually not a huge one on sports stories, but this one is really not a sports story but more about a women who has had a really way too much thrown at her, and a man who is falling in love with the women just as she is. I think anyone who loves a strong female lead would like this story. Sure she lets her family walk all over her too much, but with what happened in her past I can see that. Also, as the story goes on she begins to tell them no. I liked it so much I was thrilled to see there was a second book and bought it today with a credit. So,yep I would say go for this one.
I was given this book for my honest opinion about this book.

Good
I got this story via audiobook boom and this is my voluntary review. This story grabbed me at the beginning. Loved the truck, it played a pivotal role in the story. Now the golden child brother needs a spanking or something to knock some sense in his head. I loved how the team came to the hospital and did all of those things for Brandon. That PR guy should be ashamed of himself. You don't get ahead with telling lies even if our country at this time seems to think it is ok. But when the lies finally catch up the consequences are a doozy. I loved how the hero made it plain that he was just an ordinary guy who had been given a skill set that made him money. In the end, the downhome accent girl gets the guy she never knew she was dreaming about until he came into her life. Sorry about the death of the truck but all manmade things have an end. The narrator was a little too twangy with the heroine's voice but otherwise, everything was good.

Center Courtship
I loved reading this because it was a light but serious read. I especially enjoyed the characters. I also felt that there was a powerful message that said not to let the hurts and pains that someone else inflicts on you determine your future and steal your joy; this is the message of Center Courtship. It also lets you know that there is always someone who sees your value and worth; someone who is willing to be with you and go through the fire with you. Mae felt she was damaged goods and this affected her in many ways, but Elsu saw a beautiful flower that needed to be nurtured. He wanted Mae to shine like the bright light that he knew she was.
While I loved the story I didn't care for the narration. I don't think the narrator was able to give each character a distinct voice and I felt that she struggled greatly. Why did she give the characters a southern accent? That was very weird and at one point, it sounded as if Elsu had a British accent.

Cliffhanger
This is not a complete story! It ends in a kind of cliffhanger.
If it wasn't for the continuation, I would rate this as a 5 star so far. The story captured me from the beginning, some of that had to do with the narrator. Iliana Chaity has a southern accent that adds something to especially Mae's personality. It is odd because it takes place in Ohio but there it is. Actually the story reads more of a southern culture.
I'm not big on sports but or cars but that isn't important here. The team concept, small town vibe and loyalty are all important threads. The characters are sometimes quirky and others true villains. It's a question what they will do next.
I recieved a free Audible copy of this story, at my request, in exchange for a honest review.

Small-town romance for a terrific aunt
My children have the best aunt in the world, but Liza Brown's heroine, Mae-Belle, makes a great runner-up. Shy and introverted, she only meets our hero, Elsu, because not letting her nephew down takes precedence over her own comfort and peace of mind. He's a basketball star; she's a car parts wizard, and never the twain should meet. But they do, and sparks fly, and all ends happily ever after. The ins and outs of this unlikely pairing weren't my usual cup of tea, and though my travels throughout Ohio have not been exhaustive, I've never heard the exaggerated country twangs used in this narration. But aside from an over-the-top villain and an oddly effusive affection for a truck, there was nothing wrong with the book, and others have certainly loved it. I requested and received a complimentary copy of this audiobook and have voluntarily left this review.

GREAT READ!
I loved it! This book was full of action, suspense and romance. The narration was great and will keep you entertained. The author does a great job with the character builds and plot. This was my first book by this author but definitely not my last. I look forward to reading more of her books!
