Publisher's summary

Ninth-century Saxon England crumbles under the onslaught of a relentless foe - the Danish Vikings. Ceridwen, a young woman with divided loyalties, watches as the peace and plenty she enjoys at the Saxon stronghold of Kilton gives way to wary watchfulness. Her dearest friend, Ælfwyn, sold in marriage to a Dane in a desperate bid for peace, travels to Kilton and recounts the events that befell the fortress of Four Stones in captured Lindisse. But Ceridwen is also confronted by Sidroc, the Dane she ran from, and cannot forget. Ceridwen's life revolves around her beloved husband Gyric, rendered now unfit for battle and seemingly, for happiness. At the heart of Kilton is Gyric's brother Godwin, the young lord who struggles both against the Danish invaders and an unthinkable desire. Growing tensions between the brothers mirror the escalating threat to the Saxons from the Danes. The fate of all at Kilton hangs in the balance at a single terrifying battle.

Meticulously researched and thrillingly brought to life, here is Ceridwen of Kilton, book two of the historical adventure The Circle of Ceridwen Saga.

Such a great series!

I fell in love with this series after reading and listening to book one. The second book was even better than first. As soon as I finish this review I will be buying the next book in the series.

Totally immersed.

I am hooked on this saga. I felt the emotion and found myself in tears several times. Looking forward to purchasing the other books in the series when they are available on Audible.

Meah... so so story line

The narration was okay and the storyline not bad but it wasn't the best book I've ever read a lot of war and I didn't feel the characters were built too deeply.

LOVE OUTLANDER? RANDOLPH JUST AS GOOD!!!!

Would you consider the audio edition of Ceridwen of Kilton to be better than the print version?

For those of you who have been trying to find a story as well written as OUTLANDER, here it is!!! This series is set in the 800s and is fully described so as to put you there. Each of the characters are well-described and their personalities made known. While the books are not as long as Diana Gabaldon's OUTLANDER, they are just as historically accurate and Octavia Randolph seems to write one a year, which keeps you waiting not as long...a real plus in my opinion. There is no time travel, but gives the reader an accurate sense of how peoples of the varying nations moved from land-to-land, settling, intermingling, inter-marrying to educate the reader on where we came from... This is a high-quality, well-narrated series that, if you enjoy reading about the Danes, will keep you "in the story". It will only be a matter of time before Hollywood gets its hands on it! : )

good book, seems historically well researched

very reminiscent of Amazon's Vikings about Ragnar. very much an English perspective of just past such times. seems historically accurate from my nonexpert pov.

So vivid, one is there with them.

The passion, the richness, the depth of story. the interweaving of History, the details of daily life makes one feel that we're there with them. The depth of characters makes us feel we know these people, and we share their joys and sadness.

Beautifully Told

The characters in the story are multi-layered and complex humans. The author's unique story telling ability combined with her thorough historical research make this book, indeed the entire saga, a wealth of information and a story not soon forgotten.
The narrator in the audio version is a perfect match with the tale.
