About this listen

What's more important to a soldier - his love of his country, or his love of a woman? In the summer of 1990, Rachel Weber spent a week down on the Florida coast, soaking up the sun's rays while she waited for her life to begin. It was there that she met Dean Sherman, a handsome, muscular soldier with blue eyes. The two spent a week together full of champagne kisses that only ended when Operation Desert Storm forced Dean to choose between his duty and his love. He chose duty...soaking up the sun's rays while she waited for her life to begin. It was there that she met Dean Sherman, a handsome, muscular soldier with blue eyes. The two spent a week together full of champagne kisses that only ended when Operation Desert Storm forced Dean to choose between his duty and his love. He chose duty.

Twenty years later, Rachel figured it was just summer love, but she never forgot those eyes. As personal assistant to powerful billionaire Jack Saunders, she never expected Dean to walk into her office after being hired as Jack's personal bodyguard. Even though she had spent the last two decades trying to forget Dean, she found herself falling for him once again.

When fate forced both Rachel and Dean to choose yet again between love and duty, Rachel had to decide between the man she had always loved and the family that had become her life. She knew she couldn't have both, but she knew she wouldn't be happy with just one. Would she choose love, or be forever haunted by the memory of those Champagne Kisses?

This thrilling romance audiobooks brings the cast of the bestselling novels Saltwater Kisses and Rainwater Kisses back for an epic and timeless love story.

Pop a Botttle of Bubbly to Celebrate this Book!

Where does Champagne Kisses rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

From this Author, this is my FAVORITE book so far. Among the other audio books I've listened to in this genre, it ranks near the top!

Have you listened to any of Alicia Harris’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to two other books she narrated, both from the same author. As the series has continued, I have enjoyed listening to her portray the different characters. Champagne Kisses has been my favorite so far and Alicia does a wonderful job of changing the tone and voice for each character, as this book has the most characters in it. The book goes from present day, back to 20 years prior, and she makes the transition very clear with the change in her voice for the same characters.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When Dean and Rachel are in the bar - and he is reflecting on his friends that died. I found it to be a very "real" moment and was heartfelt!

Any additional comments?

I've really enjoyed the "Kisses" series by Krista Lakes. I feel like each book has gotten better and better! I can't wait for Freshwater Kisses to come out on Audiobook!

Grab the Kleenex!!!

This is by far one of the most emotional love stories I've ever read. At one point, I was crying so badly, I literally said outloud, PLEASE, just let the man die already! I can't take this anymore!!! It is a book you must read, but read it in order after Saltwater Kisses and Rainwater Kisses. I started this series out of order with Mistletoe Kisses because it was in a box set I bought for Christmas. It was so very good, I had to find the other books in the series and I've enjoyed them all, but beware, so far, this is the one to crush your heart into pieces before putting it back together again at the very end, but one of my favorite things about a good romance is that the Happily Ever After always makes every tear drop worth shedding.

Love Military romance

Any additional comments?

I just finished re-reading "Champaign Kisses" this morning. I am re-reading the whole "Kisses" series I really enjoyed them the first time.
"Champaign Kisses", is a continuation of the "Kisses" series by Krista Lakes. I absolutely loved this book! This one reallllly brought me in. I cried several times for the people in the book. I really liked how it told the story of how Rachel and Dean met in Florida. I cried when they separated, really cheered for them when they got back together.
I like the fact that the book told you more of how Emma and Jack were doing. Then the emotions when.... Sorry you have to read the book.

The characters are again really thought out and scenes are all really well written.

Can't wait to see, sorry read about Kim and Tony's story.

Krista, I really enjoy your books. Alicia Harris, exceptional job performing this book. You kept me riveted.
Thanks for reading my review.

Beautifully written

This has become one of my favorite books, it is up there with the notebook. The story was heart warming and original.

Great story that could've been so much better

I love the idea behind this story, but it was way too oversimplified. I did not feel like I got to know the characters at all. More detail about what they've been through the 20 years they were apart and how they were feeling when they saw each other again, for example, would've been great.

Struggled to finish

What disappointed you about Champagne Kisses?

Narrater

Would you recommend Champagne Kisses to your friends? Why or why not?

No - the narration was painful.

What didn’t you like about Alicia Harris’s performance?

Hardly any change in tones of voice! I'm not sure if it's the way the book is written (seems like a period every 5-7 words)... but she doesn't tell the story, she reads it as she would in her own head.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Champagne Kisses?

The story wasn't the problem, only the narrator.

I could not listen to the lady reading it. I tried but just had to turn it off.
