Reid Jackson

I’m a simple guy. There are only two things I love: my family and playing professional football.

I may not understand why people get married, but I’d go anywhere for my brother, even his friend Camille’s wedding. Once I’m there, I realize our Bronx upbringing has left me unprepared for the world of old Southern money. Over 24 hours, I see scandal, threats, and lies. It’s a life I don’t relate to, a place I never want to belong. Even so, when the minister asks if anyone objects, I shock not only myself but also the beautiful bride when I stand up and say, “I do.” I don’t know her, she doesn’t know me - but deep down, I knew I had to make that move.

Camille Whitley

As a political socialite in the South, nothing about my life is simple.

For years I’ve known I’d one day be standing at the altar, about to marry a man I don’t love. In Savannah, family expectations and appearances are everything, but none of it’s real. I hate what I’ve become, and I dream of being free. So, when an opportunity suddenly presents itself in the form of a stranger with captivating green eyes, I find myself asking what’s best for me: the plan or the unknown? I don’t know him, he doesn’t know me - but if I’m going to make a move, it’s now or never.

I believe with another female narrator it could b better. She doesn’t hav any emotion just a constant. I mean Camille is southern born but the narrator isn’t. Reid is from the Bronx but no accent there either. The story is ok just because of that. I hav skipped a number of female chapters. I’m sorry I wasted a credit if it’s free go for it but don’t buy.

Such a beautiful, heart-warming story!
I love that it has two narrators as well. Each did a great job and were pleasant to listen to.

This is a nice story. It’s good for an escape and you won’t regret it. The narrators made the story even better. They are the reason I listen to audiobook. I highly recommend!

I absolutely loved this book! The characters are wonderful! I can’t wait to read more from this author!

Wonderful!

My main problem with the performance is that Camille is supposed to be a Southern Belle from Savannah, and yet in the portion of the story she narrates, the narrator does not use a southern accent. However- in the portions of the story narrated by Reid- he DOES use a Southern accent to speak Camille’s lines. Very off-putting.

If you can get past the completely unbelievable, love at first sight, selfish guy randomly rescuing a stranger thing in the first chapter- not a bad read. But the initial premise seems ridiculous and unsupported.

No Southern Accent for Camille?

The story was great and Callie Dalton was wonderful. Stephen Dexter was slow and boring. Dalton could have narrated the entire book and it would have been 5-Stars.

Great story; boring male narrator

This was such a beautiful story. The way the characters grew from an instant attraction or acknowledgement that there was something in one another that pulled them like magnets to a relationship that yes gets tested but is full of love had me enthralled.
I've never listened to or read any of Kathryn Andrews stories but I'm glad I did. This was a beautiful journey and as always Callie Dalton and Stephen Dexter brought these characters to life.

Beauty in the "chase"

so this is a new author for me and i loved her book. The characters, the strength in their story, the love, the exploration of each other. The story had a good pace and the characters grow and the story behind each of them was very good intertwined with the rest of the story. It is a true romance story and the narration was good and brought characters to life beautifully.

great romance
