About this listen

Wes: Life on the road as a pro-ballplayer isn't without it's drawbacks. And now, without a team to play for, I find myself heading home. Maybe it's a good thing. I can focus on my daughter, Izzy, and my life. I need to get things straightened out, including that hole that I never filled after Izzy's mom left. But, is there anything that could keep me in town if another team came calling?

Kristin: I came to Chandler to build a new life. But just a few months in, things abruptly changed. Wes Martin: professional baseball player, apparent local hero, and total hottie is back in town. Our chance meeting in my library is quickly leading to something more. I'm falling hard for this man. But am I just another notch on his belt? Will I come between he and his daughter? There are too many questions, so many complications. Yet... I can't get Was Martin out of my head.

Charming!

This was a cute and charming story. A woman looking for a new start. Local boy returns home after he becomes famous! When the two of them meet, the chemistry between these two is undeniable but is it enough.
The two of them face some interesting challenges. You’re going to enjoy this wonderful love story.
The narration was very good!

Sweet sports romance

Wes plays for the Pirates, he is over his thirties though and one day they just let him go. He comes back to his hometown, to his daughter and parents. Little does he know a young librarian would steal his heart. This story is all about choices. Family, romance or business first? I think Wes handles it pretty well and gets his sevond wind and a chance to be happier in life. I loved his parents, they are pretty cool and supportive.
Good narration, but it could've been a bit more expressive specially on the guy side.

A very sweet romance that has the theme of baseball ⚾️, mixed with romance , and how family is important. Wes is a professional baseball player raising his teenage daughter Izzy with the help of his parents .
Kristin is now the “Head Liberian “ at Chandler’s town library.
Wes and Kristin meet and sparks fly .
Izzy is not too happy .
Kristin is afraid that the home town star has a certain image and she does not want to be a complication in his life . She just wants to go back to her everyday life , but she really cares for Wes .
The twist and turns through out the book makes you think about real life situations
The story has your emotions all over the place .
Not a cookie cutter love story .
That makes it so special .

Enjoyable book

I haven't read any books by Lacy Hart before, but I saw the baseball player on the cover and knew I needed to check it out.

I'm actually pretty happy that I gave this book a try. I liked the twist of an older ballplayer who also happens to be a single dad. Wes was unlike any character that I've read in a sports romance. He's confident on the field, but in his relationship with his daughter and with Kristin, he's out of his element. It was interesting to watch him flounder with the uncertainty of his baseball life, trying to navigate his relationship with his teenage daughter and then figure out what's exactly happening between him and the town librarian.

I had mixed feelings about Kristin. The character herself isn't bad. I like that she's a librarian, is pretty confident in life, and just generally a nice girl. I think her age is a little off though. The author ages her at 22. I think she should have been a couple years older considering a librarian needs a master's degree on top of their 4 year degree. 22 is pushing it a little. It also creeped me out just a touch that she's 22 and Wes's daughter is 15. Personally, I prefer less of an age gap between my characters. That said, outside of the couple times that age was mentioned, it wasn't terribly noticeable. It's not like Kristin was extremely immature or anything.

The author did a good job of the character and relationship development. There was enough tension to make things interesting and hold my attention. I see myself reading more from this author in the future.

The narration by Juliana Solo and Daniel James Lewis was pretty darn good. The dual narration was much needed and welcomed. The only thing that really stood out to me was the fact that Kristin is a southern girl and there was no accent. I really could have used that little touch. Otherwise, I enjoyed their performances.

Super sweet it'll give you cavities!!

My first book/audio from Lacy Hart and I of course, loved Change Up! I’m not huge into sports but for some reason I love some good sports romance. I adored Wes and his daughter, Izzy. I really adored the little match-making that happened here. Kristin is the local librarian. The characters are all sweet and totally match the tone of the story. I do wish we got to know the characters a bit more… perhaps just a bit more layered and a bit more complex. I enjoyed the chemistry between Kris and Wes and the heat was nice. I do wish there was a bit more action… either angst or just more feelings. However, this is a great sweet and happy story with a bit of conflict.

The narrators Juliana Solo and Daniel James Lewis were fantastic! Even though I wish there was more conflict or feelings… I found that I flew through this. I think I happy and sweet story is just what is needed every once and a while! I feel like Solo and Lewis really complimented each other.

A fun read

There are too many questions, so many complications. Yet... I can't get Was Martin out of my head.

This book had good characters and they were relatable. This author did a good job in keeping my interest and drawing me in. I look forward to reading more from this author. Juliana Solo, Daniel James Lewis did a great job of bringing these characters to life for me looking forward to hearing more books narrated by them.

Thank you for the audio

Thank you for the audio, I voluntarily give this an honest review. Kristine wants to get more local kids involved with the library. a random whim send her to deliver on a book for Izzy.
We'd returned him to his daughter after being let go from baseball team. when the two meet the sparks fly but can Kristine really take a chance on Wes? noting will ever be normal again for the librarian. this was a wonderful experience to listen to with both narrators Juliana Solo and Daniel James Lewis.

Change Up Review

I absolutely loved this book!!!

We first meet Kristine, a 20 something librarian, who had just moved to town. She is trying to come up with new ways to get local teens involved with reading, including book delivery. The first request comes from a local teen, who wants a book to read to her grandmother. Making the decision to deliver the book personally instead of mailing it out may have been the best choice Kris has ever made.

That’s where she meets Izzy Martin, teen daughter of local baseball legend Wes Martin. Thing in Kris’ life start to take a turn when Wes shows up in town after being let go by his team.

Sparks fly between them as they start to hang out and then the worst thing happens... Wes get offered to join another Baseball team. Can there love for each other survive everything that is coming between them or will they lose each other forever?

I love the book, loved the characters and the plot. I laughed, and cried through this book, but it brought up some tough points of being a single parent. I’m glad everything worked out in the end.
