At the ripe old age of 29, Veronica Mason has given up on the very idea of love. After a childhood blighted by addiction and foster homes and an engagement that ended with no reason given, she's built walls so big it would take dynamite to destroy them.
Then she meets Julie, and those walls begin to crumble.
At the age of 22, Julie Summers is ready to embark on her last year of college. Positive, happy-go-lucky, and drop-dead gorgeous, Julie has the world at her feet. And then she meets Veronica. She's instantly bewitched by her beauty and wants to be the one who chases all her shadows away.
As both women learn more about each other, will it bring them closer together or drive them apart?

Julie is a college student, a little shy and has a great close relationship with her father. Travis is a likeable supportive male character. They meet when she needs help moving furniture, and they become best friends. He's completely in love with his wife, always talking about her with a goofy smile every chance he gets. They go out to lunch at an 80s restaurant and Julie is crushing on the waitress. Travis nudges julie to talk to her, and they soon start dating. The first half of the book is largely fluff, the various cute things they do together, from skating, barbecuing, and partying. SEMI-SPOILER-warning: it hits a sad point with a side character, so it's not all fluff. As you can guess from the title, julie and veronica do end on a happy note. There's a scene where they're caught speeding, so veronica quickly unbuttons julie's shirt in an attempt to flirt with the cop. You can guess what the older female cop thought of that.
Communication tends to be a source of conflict among characters when they don't share their feelings. A few points of conflict build up without discussing it, so the bubble bursts all at once. The relationship is a bit more one-way, with julie pursuing veronica. I didn't like how julie tried to take advantage of a bad situation, but you gotta give her credit for trying. As I mentioned earlier, the sad point was totally not what I wanted :(
