About this listen

Zinnia, Mississippi is rife with quirky characters, but the arrival of three sister witches - and their intention to open a Wiccan boarding school - sets the small town on its ear. And bodies begin to accumulate as a result. Faith, Hope, and Charity Harrington are sexy and smart. They're setting up their boarding school in an old dairy - a piece of property with tremendous development potential. And they're standing in the way of "progress", according to some in the town.

When young Corey Fontana goes missing, Delaney Detective Agency is hired to find the youth - who's well known as a local hooligan. His mother, Kitten Fontana, who is married to the king of land development, believes the witches have abducted her son and makes no bones about it. She's willing to pay hard cash to find her son, especially if she can implicate the witches in his disappearance.

When Sarah Booth Delaney and her partner, Tinkie Richmond, find Corey, unharmed, it is only the beginning of a series of events that include midnight dances under a full moon, love potions, and murder. Are the sister witches criminals. or victims? Do they truly have magical powers, as they claim? Sarah Booth and Tinkie must find the answer before more people are harmed.

All encompassing

As with all Carolyn Haines' works of love, Charmed Bones is not only a work of art, but also touches on political, socioeconomic, animal welfare, morality, friendship, loyalty to not only friends but to animals, earth and love. The plot twists and turns, a wonderful tale woven leaving you wanting more, gives this and all Sarah Booth Delaney books a feeling that you are listening to the author owning the character she created. Sarah Booth's conscience in the form of Jitty has a story in each encounter. The flow of the story telling and the narrator, Kate Forbes, make for a wonderful listen. Sarah Booth, Tinkie, Coleman, CeCe, Oscar, Harold, Jitty and all characters created are such deep personalities with amazing loyalties.
Charmed Bones is not afraid to go where the author always takes all her books, to the land of your imagination, while having both feet in reality.

Another really fun one.

This is the 5th book in the series I have esp liked. I could not imagine how 3
witches woud play in
the action but what a pleasure to sit back and let this fine author
do all the work. I have had fun listening to these books- and I am glad to see a couple more coming up. This book
fleshed out the central characters in cluding the critters. Chablis is due some special trets for having
been left outcofcthings.

Another winner!

Carolyn Haines never disappoints! And as always, the narrator is fantastic too. Can't wait for the next one!

Dislike the narration, wonderful addition to series

Really, really love this series but the narrator just didn’t quite fit for a 30 something woman from MS, in my opinion (as a 30 year old woman from MS). Can’t wait to find out if Tinkie is pregnant in the next book!

Charmed book

Carolyn Haines has written another action-packed, interesting, and funny Sarah Booth Delaney mystery, and Kate Forbes did a wonderful job narrating, as usual! I won’t give anything away, but if you’re a fan of this series, this one is a MUST READ (or listen)! Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Probably one of the worst story lines of all of her books.

The story line is horrible. The writer was more interested in getting political, religious and Social points across then the story. Honestly makes me wonder if I am going to keep read f the series of this is her new style.

I think I'm done with this series.

it was all I could do to finish. Sarah Booth gets whinier, and more obnoxious in each book. Jitty gets more outlandish.
