About this listen

He doesn’t know how much he’s cherished…

Dale Steel has fallen in love with his intern, Ashley White. She’s vibrant, intelligent, and full of life, despite a past that was far from perfect. She’s everything he’s not…which is why he’s determined to keep her at arm’s length. The emotions she’s awakened in him have stirred something dark that he’s kept buried for years, and a relationship with him would only destroy her.

Ashley has other ideas. She adores Dale, and more than anything, she wants him to understand he deserves her love. As they work together side by side, their passion grows, and Dale finally agrees to a trial run at a relationship.

But a secret from his newfound birth father and an act of God throw a wrench into his world once again, threatening not only his relationship with Ashley, but everything else he holds dear as well.

A little disappointed

I have been a loyal follower of the Steel Brothers and family. I have always looked forward to the next book.
This book did nothing for me. It was a repeat of Tallon's early years....which in reality I get....but this is not reality, this is fiction. I was hoping throughout the whole book it would take a different direction....something I didn't see coming. Nope, predictable to the last line.
I am on the fence if I want to even bother with the next one.

Conflicted but good I guess.....

Hey Fellow Readers!! This one was really hard for me to review. I was really conflicted between 3/4 stars and that’s because one I’m already in love with the Steel Brothers Saga. Two: I listen to the audiobook and Troy Duran and Jennifer Mack does an amazing job in narration. Last, Helen Hardt, is such an incredible writer with her plots, characters, and surprise plot twist that she always manages to blow my mind in one way or another. Oh and of course who doesn’t love her hit and steamy scenes, I especially love how she made Dale sexual behavior compatible with his personality. I was starting to think the Steel men all genetically had sex the same way. 😂😂That all being said this one wasn’t horrible but it’s not going on a favorites list. 🤷🏽‍♀️

Without spoiling anything let me just say hopefully you read Awakened which had already done the introduction and began the relationship between Dale and Ashley so I was expecting this book to continue, clear the air, and push forward, if not conclude that situation. Now I suspected a cliffhanger in Cherished because there always is but I didn’t expect Dale and Ashley’s storyline to still be so open....Not to mention Dale had a lot of flashbacks to me. I remembered their history. Some of the flashbacks made sense so I Really couldn’t complain but some stuff was redundant for me, not a refresher like I’m sure she wanted it to be.

I understand that Dale has a bunch of secrets and in this story we found Ashley even had secrets she was carrying about her past. Again in this book I was hoping their situations would be resolved since this is their second book. I was hoping we would find out about Donny, his brother, in the next book. Sorry if I spelled Donny wrong, that’s because I listen to the books.....

All that being said I still love this author, the Steel Brother Series. I just don’t want Helen Hardt to start phoning it in, or writing extra books so we’ll buy extra books just cause we love the series. That’s why I never read Legacy, and that other one. 🤔🤔🤔They go over the dad and mom’s history. So I just didn’t see the point.🤷🏽‍♀️

Holy hell!!!!

Dale and Ashley are perfect... but seem to be doomed!

They love each other, but are they both too broken to make it work?? With all that happens, it seems as though that’s the case. When Dale hears what his birth father has to say on his deathbed, he runs..

I cannot wait for the next book!!!

The Steel Saga Continues and it's great.

Just when you thought all the Steel's secrets were already exposed you get blasted by another one. The absolute betrayal is tangible and if this person, this betrayer weren't already dying, I would want him dead. A Game of Thrones Death!

Dale and Ashley have finally confessed their feelings for each other. Although Dale has learned how to hold her hand, he hasn't learned how to love her. The good thing though is that he is trying because he does want to make her happy. The demons are still inside his soul but he can give the good part of himself without those demons getting loose. Even though Ashley has revealed a dark secret she has been ashamed of Dale has revealed very little about himself.

When a death bed confession reveals an unforgivable sin, Dale hides deeper into himself and runs to the mountains for solitude. Will Ashley be waiting when and if he returns? I don't know but I'm so glad I waited for the publication of all three books before I started reading!

Really good series but I'm wondering if this series should be called The Steel Dynasty or something else that would have included Majorie and all the Steel children and cousins.

Can’t wait for the end!!!

So many emotions running tru me with this story!

Dale still has demons hunting him!!! But how could it not? 😭

Both of the narrators are new to me but I already have them on my list of favorites. Both are doing an amazing job giving live to Dale and Ashley!! 😍

Just awful, story, characters, narration

I can't believe how much I disliked almost everything about this book. The narrators' voices were grating and the story: for two supposed adults their behavior was so childish. At the age of 35 Dale doesn't know how to hold a woman's hand? His constant flip flop of emotions and his anger at Ashely and yet she loves him and he loves her. Ugh!
