About this listen

Widowed at thirty-three with two small kids, Beverly Simpson wants someone to blame. Angry, hurt, and full of regret for what she’s lost, she rails against a once trusted God and hides her loneliness behind a sassy exterior.

Joe Clark, intrigued by Bev’s irreverent approach to life, stubbornly pursues her.

However, the pair have two very different outlooks on life. Joe is a dedicated preacher, while Bev insists she no longer even believes in God. Despite being polar opposites, they can’t hide their attraction to each other, but reconciling their beliefs may be harder than they imagined. Will faith and love be enough to mend a damaged heart?

Originally published in 1987, Tempted is an inspiring story of betrayal and trust.

Love Carr novels read by Teres Plumber. Carr always writes romance with a touch of comedy

love Ms Plumber

This is a really weird style, almost like a TV script in some areas. It was clunky and not my favorite at all. T. Plummer had a difficult time with it in some places. there are really only to main characters with very minimal development of anybody else, and they are very old fashioned without really understanding why. Even with all of that, though, it's still a good story.

Good premise but not RC's usual style

Robyn Carr is one of my top favorite authors and she didn’t disappoint. As a Christian I lived how she portrayed a believer. The storyline was real and authentic. Don’t miss this one.

So Relational

This book was spot on. The push and pull of the two main characters kept me intrigued. I would love a sequel

Perfectly Human with a religious thread

Ever wonder what it would be like falling in like, then love with a pastor and being an unbeliever yourself? This is a well written tale of just that with a lot of sins in between the pages. A very easy listen.

A Feel Good Story in the end

Bev got on my nerves! I didn’t like how she treated Joe and she had no respect for him being a preacher.

Disappointed

I love Robyn Carr but this is my least favorite book. The main character is hard to like and not in love with this story line.

Old book
