Publisher's summary

In the wake of tragedy, three people discover unexpected happiness and love in this heartwarming novel of magic, hope, and family, infused with the spirit of the holiday season - the first book in New York Times best-selling author Lisa Kleypas' Friday Harbor series, and the basis of the Hallmark Hall of Fame television movie Christmas with Holly.

When his sister, Victoria, died in a car accident, Mark Nolan became the guardian of his six-year-old niece Holly. But it hasn’t been easy. Since that tragic night, the little girl hasn’t spoken a word. Mark isn’t sure how to help Holly. All he can do is follow his sister’s wise advice: Start by loving her. The rest will follow.

Maggie Collins was barely married a year when she suddenly lost her husband. Though she doesn’t dare let herself believe in love again, the toy store owner does believe in magic - the power of imagination. When she meets Holly Nolan, she knows just what the quiet little girl needs.

Thrust together by the vagaries of fate, three wounded people are about to share the greatest Christmas gift of all....

Love Kleypas

Love this story. Narration is horrible!!! Kleypas books are all wonderful but the electronic sounding narration of this one nearly ruined it.

Great story…….painful narration

The narration is painful. I love Lisa’s stories but Tanya Eby sounds like a computer.

Incredibly boring

Monotone narration on simple dialogue. There was no depth to the characters. No build up or intensity or anything to draw in the reader to connect. Repetitive over and over bringing up a theme for example - is magic and imagination good for kids - then explaining it on and on in each character’s head versus creating a story you live in and letting the relationship between the characters develop. This was just bad. Not the witty dialog and world building I am used to with Kleypas.

Could the narrator talk ANY faster??

This was so unpleasant to listen to! Not only did she talk super fast she had a sickeningly sweet fake voice. No one is that happy 24/7! The rest of the series was performed really well and stories were believable. This was just thrown together to make a quick buck! And the timeline didn’t match the other 3 books in the series!
At least be consistent! A very short story not worth a full credit! Huge disappointment! Save your $$$
